Here is an example of type 2. 3 months of depression followed by one month of normal, followed by 3 more months of depression, and the cycle repeats.

yeah that is a rapid cycle. bipolar is such a bitch.

Its just a different pattern. For example I mostly experience depression and mixed episodes, however because I experience "up" phases I am not a type 2 bipolar. Nor am I a true type 1 because of the rapid cycling and lack of true mania.

Type 1 is more of classical bipolar. These people tend to take lithium as a first line medication. They experience depressions and happy manias. Of course there are variations to this. Type 2 bipolar is mostly repeated episodes of depression, however some type 2 bipolar people also have up phases.

fuggz bipolar is more unpredictable then yours... she doesn't need any antidepressants. Me and fuggz have non-classical bipolars.

This is another problem with bipolar the doctors have failed to warn us about- it turns more into depression as time goes on.
