Now granted, I usually am just on that edge of NO MORE ROOM in my freezers. But considering four people live in this house, and I use the bar fridge's freezer for basically bacon, scrapple, and other various meats... the freezer upstairs ends up constantly full... I've never seen the bottom of the drawer unless it was to clean it.
Welp, because there is a fucking shortage of meat and none of us can do our regular grocery shopping, we are forced to buy whatever we can and freeze it for a later date.
My gf's mom wanted to get a chest freezer but guess what, they're all well overpriced or out of stock!
So instead, I took the thermostat out of the beer fridge we keep outside and cranked the calibration screw in... bam. Free upright freezer. I thought for sure I was going to have to spend a WHOLE $11.99 on a different thermostat.
Now I also have more room to freeze my toilet paper for later use.
