compared to her super girly "I'm a complacent little housewive" mini-dress and bob haircut in super

Yeah, that's Toriyama's designs in general. But in GT she looks even more like Chichi to me.

Idk. videl's character design  in dbz always kind of bothered me( the skampy clothes and the messy hair at least  until she gets that teen Gohan esque haircut )  She really wasn't into dudes at that point of the show  >

 

I wish toriyama used the outfit he gave to videl in super instead( after videl falls for Gohan ) those look way more romantic and the shirt actually compliments her anagram name.

Yeah, that's Toriyama's designs in general. But in GT she looks even more like Chichi to me.

I would also like the point out the fact that Chichi only became okay with the idea of Gohan dating videl when she decided Videl was just like her, and therefor the perfect woman(Chichi is a bit self absorbed)

 

 

personality wise Videl is really nothing like her but for some reason Chichi thinks they're just alike (Chichi is very feminine and is also violent and stubborn whereas Videl (used to be) Butch and is more calm and patient)

That being said, I understand that they have to change her design, especially in the case of GT since it's a decade after DBZ.  So with that in mind, I prefer her GT design to her Super design.

I don't like a lot of the designs in Super as much.  Everyone looks scrawny.  Mr. Satan, especially.  Don't know what the hell happened to him.  I dunno', I just generally prefer the art style, character designs, and art of the original over Super.  Super, it's all low detail and the colors are too vivid.  I think the lines are thicker, too.  Just... eh.

I had the same issue with Satan also the fact that they don't call him Hercule anymore (muh dub consistency). For whatever reason it's Toriyama's new style, many have been saying that it's easier to draw that way ie less money. Goku's personality is also going to change a lot from Z to S. Toriyama said that he hated that the anime made Goku seem like someone who would stand up for the weak and act like a hero, he wanted Goku to just be in it for the fights. 

 

Really I think Toriyama just became too much of a One Piece Fan over time and is trying to emulate it. Luffy is lanky so lets make Goku lanky, Luffy has the attention span of an impatient kid so Goku does now too.

 

Also the whole Bullets now hurt thing when Goku and Krillin were able to take an uzi to the face since they were 12. Not to mention that Goku took up farming as his chief income when he could do things like sports, heavy lifting jobs,  or fighting to make money. Especially since Chichi went through what would be near One Million USD in a few days, and the did a retcon about Frying pan Mt, Saying that everything was lost when Roshi blew up the Mt, but Ox King didn't have money problems for the last 20 something years. Then again Chichi can go through a million dollars in a few days.

Yeah Goku could be clueless but I'm not sure he was ever this dumb.  It's sort of like how sitcom characters become more and more exaggerated the longer the show goes on until they basically become parodies of themselves, which is what it feels like with Goku.  Well yeah Goku could be a bit of a jerk and put fights above serious concerns, like sparing Vegeta and Frieza, but back in Dragonball he seemed a lot more altruistic.  If someone was in trouble and he was around he'd usually help them.  The Indian boy brings that to mind.  Maybe Goku just became an asshole after he grew up.

 

The bullets thing was likely a cartoon gag in that part, but later on they're able to dodge or catch bullets, so yeah.  The farming thing is stupid because he could make money fighting in tournaments and tons of other things, like you said.  Chichi said she saved most of the money.  I don't believe she went through the rest and probably just said that so Goku would shape up and actually work.  From what I understand, when Chichi said Ox King lost his treasures, I took to mean it was recent, which is why the family was now having money issues.  I think she made that up as well, again, just to get Goku to not be such a deadbeat. It's more about the principle for Chichi, than the money.  She wants Goku to be a better father and husband, and that's heightened now that Gohan and Videl have a baby on the way.  She said she wanted Goku to start setting a better example.
