Distortedreasoning Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 thats a normal shift for me O0 :420:
nameraka Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 i used to be on 10 hour shifts. it was fine at first but after awhile i started hating it. i do miss those 3 day weekends though...
1938_Packard Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Wheeeee Wasn't that bad, tbh. Last time I was ordered to do a twelve hour shift, I walked off before even my regular shift was over. Boss had to find somebody else. Nothing he could have done to stop me, either. Some things just supersede the department head's authority.
God-Says-No Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Ive worked a 16hr shift and ill never do that again
1938_Packard Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Ive worked a 16hr shift and ill never do that again Sixteen? I tried that back when I worked at the Holmhurst. Ditto... it's not to be repeated. What's up with bosses and their overtime demands, anyway? When they're short staffed, it's time to hire more people. They act like they own people like they own appliances.
Swimmod_Luna Posted April 7, 2017 Author Posted April 7, 2017 Get back to work mental health drone No thanks
Swimmod_Luna Posted April 7, 2017 Author Posted April 7, 2017 what did you do Got to witness a client in a behavior for like 5 hours. She started choking another client, then calmed down for a bit, then went after the same client again but was able to be redirected, then calmed down a bit, then went after the same client yet again and started pulling her hair and was escorted to her room til she fell asleep.
Swimmod_Luna Posted April 7, 2017 Author Posted April 7, 2017 i used to be on 10 hour shifts. it was fine at first but after awhile i started hating it. i do miss those 3 day weekends though... I still work 5 days a week and could work anywhere from 7-16 hours in a day $$$$$
Swimmod_Luna Posted April 7, 2017 Author Posted April 7, 2017 Ive worked a 16hr shift and ill never do that again I might have to work those sometimes. That's why I went in at 10am when I don't have to start until 2pm. If I started at my normal time they could make me work my shift plus all of third. If I go in early they could still make me stay until 2am but I think it's hard for them to find people to come in at that hour to cover so I think the people that come in at 2pm are more likely to get mandated to 3rd. We are very short staffed right now.
molarbear Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Wheeeee Wasn't that bad, tbh. I found my brain turns to mush if I work anything over 10 hours, when I was working 12's I'd just burn the last 2 hours cleaning because at that point I was going to do more harm to a part than good.
