I like the idea put forth in certain animes that the characters with crazy colored hair simply dyed their hair.  We found this out about Shitma (why didn't I think of this nickname sooner?) and Bon.

It was also revealed to be the case in this show too.  Totally different genre but this show is charming, funny, and wholesome.
