THAT'S what happens your elixir "works?"  Some immortality.

Now he's scared shitless but has a plan.  I really hope this guy isn't around much longer.

LOL a trap door of course.

i was hoping he'd be able to come back with us, but i dunno how we're gonna get past this....

Not like he was a great guy before but this is beyond the pale.

You know, for being The Illuminati this group is really lame.  Especially having this Ugly Bastard guy as a major recurring villain.  Hopefully he gets eaten alive by his own zombies or something.

Lucifer gives them potential so I'm gonna withhold my judgement on them as a villain group until we can maybe see their real capabilities after this fat bastard is dead. They seem to be using him as a means to an end while disregarding whatever nasty shit he does to do it judging by what she said at the end. Plus this doesn't make any of the human members any less evil than the demons for letting this bastard do all this sadistic shit.

Well, so far we haven't seen any strong fighters or anyone particularly cool, badass, or interesting.  Lucifer made a big show, but is sick.  Shima is traitor with secret powers but they drain him.  Not really sure what the deal is with the two tone hair girl.  Then we have Dr. Ugly Bastard.  I mean, they're an evil group so I don't think they care what he does anyway haha.

Yeah, that's why I wonder. Like you said we haven't seen any strong fighters or anyone else new and particularly badass yet or here at this base besides Lucifer himself and the only other person to make any impression is the two tone hair girl who we still know nothing about let alone if she can even fight despite seemingly acting like a second in command. I feel like they must have more beyond just Lucifer himself and this is just like a side base/lab made for Dr. Ugly Bastard and we aren't seeing much of their organization yet. But I guess we'll see over time after Rin and co. take out the trash.

Yup, and made up of lots of humans too which I think that's potentially something valuable to add the story given the premise, especially if they're bad without being as overt as this bastard.

Either this is a shitty side base outpost like you said and Lucifer just picked here to recuperate because of its convenient location, or this group is all talk, just some crazy minor cult that can't actually achieve their goals, even if it's something that can technically happen with the show's lore and they have Lucifer himself on their side.

Having human villains is a change of pace, but these guys... eeehh haha.  I am all for having irredeemable and unsympathetic villains.  Anime can really go overboard with "sympathetic" villains sometimes, and also giving redemption to characters that don't deserve it.  I really love the term "character laundering" for this.  But this Ugly Bastard Gedoin is beyond ridiculously cartoonishly evil.  He's just lame, annoying, and gross.

And Shima is only making himself worse by the minute.  I don't think Shima is some super genius double agent and actually working for Mephisto and this is an inside job to destroy the Illumnati either. 🤣

It is odd that the Knights of the True Cross are just allowing the Illuminati to take over a town, though.  I wonder if that will be addressed.

Yeah, that's why like I said, not gonna judge these villains until the douchebag is out of the way and we see if there's anything to them or just a vehicle to introduce Lucifer.

Yup, he's such a one-note evil incarnate non-character that that I can't wait to see bite the bullet, he makes even the evil demons look more sophisticated evil so there's that, pretty easy to imagine he was purposefully put in here relatively early (this is still only like the second real arc after the introduction arc and Bon's arc last season) in the overall story to stand in for showing Rin his first human as vile as even some of the worst demons (guess it fits the rest of what his character is facing right now too). Lucifer obviously needs his experiments for something, but hopefully at some point after his shitty ass is out of the way we'll eventually see if there's anyone else strong in this organization or if only Lucifer matters. Like you said, either option could fit the lore.

Yup, even if that ends up being the case with giving her the doll back he's still no genius and just a smug thug, Shima's a real piece of work heavily contributing to putting Izumo through all this.

Gotta imagine it will be addressed somehow at the end of the arc since it's Izumo's home town (or maybe at least implied? if we learn more about Lucifer and how strong he really is) clearly there's a lot of behind the scenes maneuvering by the Vatican/True Cross Order we're still in the dark on given that they seemingly need to risk the potential benefits of another demon somewhere near Lucifer's level in Mephisto and haven't just blitzed Lucifer already.

rin, burn them all

Yup, but unfortunately seems like we're going to have to be "shonen conflicted about it" since they were once human, even though them being regenerating zombies should be a huge difference to let him "go Mustang flame" on them without anyone taking it the wrong way, since they're living dead. 🤣

Loved Izumo's last ditch effort to not give in and be brought into that room, faking the freak out to get an opening to grab that pen, stab one of the dude's confining her, kick the other one, and make a break for it summoning her foxes to try to bust out before it's too late.

Also, more great content with Kuro. Worried when Kuro got separated but still adorable as always learning it was all a fake display and getting disappointed lol.

Not to mention Kuro's proud pose with the others when they got through knocking out the first batch of soldiers/guards.

The soundtrack's always been good and now Kohta Yamamoto and Sawano really starting to find the groove with how the sound directors are using their tracks.
