saito34 Posted July 20 Author Posted July 20 I dont really count this as a new or noteworthy addition to the block. Just re-air it in English. I appreciate original VA's and such but this wasn't interesting enough to warrant watching the Japanese language version. I still watch cuz I'm board but... 1 Quote
DangerMouse Posted July 20 Posted July 20 aww man, why are they rerunning with the sub, wouldn't have minded sorta just half chilling to the show with the dub. Quote

Mr. Idea Box Posted July 20 Posted July 20 Look on the bright side. Between Daima, Dandadan, Bleach, Blue Exorcist, and One Piece, this is the earliest Subbed Lazarus would be able to air. Heck, even if you move the schedule around, it wouldn't air until 1:30 AM at least. But I will agree that I'd rather see something else occupy that slot, like Sailor Moon or IGPX. 1 Quote
DangerMouse Posted July 20 Posted July 20 (edited) The setting and team were actually pretty cool and very likeable to me, I liked all of the team members and even without overly deep looks at their past we got to know them pretty well I feel with what we got. The main issue to me was that even though the threat was a big one with a time limit it wasn't treated particularly like a thriller with a deadline (Watanabe's Terror in Resonance was more like that in fact). That wasn't actually a bad thing in the first half, but even in the second half it never got more thriller like (other than the Christine rescue ep) despite the set up for it. Maybe a more active threat could bring out the next level now that we know everyone, so maybe a second season with like that dirty organization that was making assassins going full terrorist could improve on this season. There was very little, if any urgency or sense of dread. Very meandering and unfocused. Quote
CorbeauKarasu Posted Sunday at 06:36 AM Posted Sunday at 06:36 AM i know this is obvious at this point, but i'm really loving that toonami and adult swim has entered its subtitles era. i love dubs, but i remember (in a video where TOM and Sara referred to me directly) when they believed airing subtitled anime was altogether unfeasible. but now... and with "womean wearing shoulder pads" coming up, who knows what the future will bring... CorbeauKarasu Posted Sunday at 06:44 AM Posted Sunday at 06:44 AM honestly, i still kind of think he should have let the world end. Â the people with analgesia would have been enough to restart the human race andf keep it from going extinct. give or take a couple centuries, we'd be right back up to the billions in terms of population - maybe enough for a real fresh start Quote

That's great. Honestly Toonami is one thing I'll always consider lucky to have had in my lifetime. Late night animation blocks are something we'll probably never have again and they had a huge impact on me. I'd be super stoked if I got a mention. 1 Quote

Yeah, it's been irreplaceable having this block in my life, and was such an influence on me during those key years, and the couple other late night animation blocks that came and went over the years.
