This is honestly how I'd go about making an anime myself, but people wouldn't invest and call me very insane.

 

Kyle's brushes works like magic. Painting with the gouache brushes makes it look like the real thing:

 

 

Only thing this is probably a few years-earlier looking in design (some Record Of Lodoss War-inspired shit I never finished), but same concept.
