a lot of show seem to be doing this thing where they drop trailers and refuse to show ANY evidence any sort of actual production has begun

So if you're promoting Season two, why use footage from Season One? If there is no footage ready to use from Season Two, THEN WAIT TO MAKE A PROMO FOR SEASON TWO UNTIL YOU HAVE ENOUGH FOOTAGE READY TO USE FROM SEASON TWO!!!
