its one of my all time favorites and my all time best rpg. the game can be very unforgiving to noobs. but you stick with it then its not too bad. you can always save scum lol.

saving before a fight. that way you can replay it till you win. almost like cheating. still in this game, its best to avoid combat early on or at least until you are equipped enough. always target major body parts like the legs or eyes.

Oh. Yeah, I have already been doing this. xD How early is early on? I just took out a bunch of super mutants, though I did have to shoot them from a distance so as to only draw aggro from one at a time. I had to save in between each kill, but now that all the ones outside are dead, the one's inside with the crazy guns who come out of their closet to block the fuckin hallway I need to traverse are impossible to kill. I'm thinkling of starting over with a spec for speech, because I am running out of time and this is total bullshit. Either that or sneak...

first 3-4 levels at least till you have points in guns. if you taking out super mutants then you pretty far into it. are you in the cathedral? you can wear a robe and sneak past everyone.

if im playing a regular play through i usually spec 9-10, then about a 5-6 on strength and perception, and about 8-10 in agility. oh and take the gifted perk! its really op.

Necropolis. Been to the cathedral, but the people there suck so bad all I want to do is kill them but it's a fight I can't win yet. I never did find a set of robes.

thats still pretty late game. your best course of action is to try to go the peace route. sneaking works here too i think. but taking them on is really hard.

Wait, with the cult monks or the super mutants?

i think i remember you can do both without having to kill. the super mutant base is a lot harder one. you need a lot going beat the end boss without having to fight him. as for the cult? theres a woman working undercover for one of the factions, you can talk to her and i think she gets you almost everything you need.its been a while since i last played fo1. i usually replay fo2 more often.

I do plan on playing this eventually but all this talk of unforgiving difficulty scares me a bit. I want to get into it though.

FO1 makes me realize that the Bethesda games are watered down shameless cash grabs with better graphics for sissies... that I can't stop playing. 76 is harder than the other ones  but it's nothing compared to this.

its very unforgiving if you dont know what youre doing. even from the start when you make your character you have to think of how you want to play. this isnt the type of game where you can be the master of all crafts. you can be average all around, or really good in a few, or excellent in like 2 things and bad with everything else. then when you start, if you didnt spec into combat, you will get killed. even if you did spec into combat, you cant go around fighting everything. eventually you will run into situations where your best course of action is running away or avoiding combat altogether. even when youre in the late game with power armor and out leveling and out gunning everything you can still get killed.

this game is hard, and sometimes even unfair. but it gets easier if you think things through. though it could be a bit intimidating, even the manual was around 100 pages lol.

Oh my! I'll definitely go into it with all that in mind.

big time!

they got the superficial stuff right but thats about it.

It's Elder Scrolls with a fresh coat of Fallout paint. Also, I wish a Fallout game that takes place in Europe would come out... I would say China but it would be super dumb if it weren't in Chinese... Just someplace other than the U.S.  What happened elsewhere? Maybe Canada, even? Polar Yao Guai...

yes! thats what i used to call it and everyone thought i was giving it a complement. hell no, this game is on a whole different level than oblivion or anything bethesda could ever make.

settings wise? you could fast forward like 100 years into the future and see how the ncr is doing? or yeah go somewhere else like in china and see how they are recovering.

I would also be curious about the Brotherhood of Steel after Maxson's defeat in the commonwealth. (really hoping they go with that as the canon outcome) Did they listen to the people who lived there and realize they were being huge dicks? Bring in a better Elder? Then there Caesar's legion... Got to wonder if they managed to regroup. Maybe the Aliens play a bigger role in the next Fallout game instead of making a cameo appearance like every other time. Tons of questions and possibilities. Fallout is such a quirky, weird and diverse experience that not only does every installment have great replay value, the entire series has great potential to go on with new titles.
