i had a customer who didnt speak english and didnt even know money (they at least usually know money) either and he handed me $100 and paid for a tiny little metal cup thingie that was some kind of holder for food. Well it was $40. I guess he gave it ot someone in his car who looked at the receipt and was like "idiot, u paid $40 for this little cup thing?" and sent him right back to get his money back lol

and they were mad when i said its a good idea to at least try to learn workable English in order to function in this country

This lady barely spoke English, ordered a frappuccino, and didn't know the word blend. So she makes a sound effect, "don't [blender sound effect] drink so much, please."

What language did she speak?

No. Your point? I am one hundred percent certain it wasn't what she was "saying."

My point being you found it funny she didn't know theย English word for blend.....I was just wondering if it's equally funny that you failed at a language that isn't your's.

How would you ask her if the roles were reversed.

I think if I had an unusual request for my drink, which it really was, I would make an effort to learn the words for it. I'm very patient when it comes to people with limited English skills. Her way of placing an order was just very bizarre.

Asking someone not to overblend your frap is unusual.....You wan't no part of my family then.ย  I don't order shit alongside them.

Or uncommon, rather. Double blended is a far more common request than half blended. Most people don't like their fraps to have the consistency of a slushie.

My point being, I would make an effort to learn words in the language for special requests. Otherwise, I'd just order something the way it is, like most foreigners do anyway.

Yeah, it's more unreasonable to expect people to learn the words for every special request. ย Being someone that tried to communicate in a foreign country, I get what it's like not having the words to explain speciality requests for food.
