Which, for there to be an actual sequel or for the sequel to actually be published? I think there's sometimes a problem with having a sequel if the first book is strong enough to stand by itself. There needs to be a reason for going back to that world. There's reason now. Here's hoping that it's not a crappy forced sequel though. -.-;

As such, it's a given that a sequel would have plenty of space to create more timely commentary on the subject. What you're describing is more of an issue for popular entertainment.

I was actually speaking in terms of the author's perspective. Sometimes the thing you first create is fine on its own and there's a mental block against writing anything more in that 'world' . So for the author, maybe the sequel was floating around in the background but it had no need to really form up and demand to be written despite any external demands by fans.
