The only way she can see what you were doing is either through the use of a program designed to tell her what ports your computer is operating, or with admin privledges she might be able to see some stuff idk. If she has administrator priveledges on the network she could screw with you quite a bit by kicking you off.

Your activity? If she's a hacker with the right tools she could see that, but if not the worst you have to worry about is her clogging up your bandwidth, and well also possibly infecting your computer with malicious programs if neither of you have any firewalls or antivirus programs.

That doesn't make sense, how could she infect his computer with malware??

although thats not what she would do, that is the question.  i trust her but i still want examples of what could go wrong.  where are the admin privileges located?

i guess the only admin is my ISP because all we both have is a password to the modem...  she wouldnt mess wth me i know that, but i cant find any admin settings?

i know the only way to change the password is to call ISP and have them do it...  usually there is admin settings isnt there?

basic firewalls and standard network security usually takes care of this kind of thing. I guess you are using community wifi with no encryption or protection or what?

this is kind of more than i can answer, it is a wifi modem.  its an encrypted network.  and since i cant find any controls im guessing the ISP is the network administrator and has all those options at their disposal themselves.  because all i can do is turn on/off my own network and i cant see any shared network settings, i cant see her device, i cant toggle any sharing settings, and i cant make myself the network admin

If you find the settings you need to choose WPA2 and set up a password. Usually the techs from your isp would have this set up for you or make sure it was done before leaving.

it is.  thats 100% the situation. and i gave her the password.  so all she can do is surf and browse i guess because there seems to be no other administrative options.

and they would've given you a standard password that you can change if you want. Usually the serial number for the modem or something like that. If you have your own purchased modem you can google your isp or look in the modem settings to change this probably.

i have 2 options to change the password.  i can go to my ISP website and change it or call them and they can change it.

maybe her device would show up on my ISP website.  i just dont want her to have any administrative options or sharing privileges

She can't see that stuff just by being connected to your network if that's what you're asking. She'd have to be intentionally trying to spy on you and go out of her way to get some software for it. As long as you trust her and she's not a nosy tech type you should be fine anyway. If you don't trust her I'd find a way o change the password for sure.

my main concern is passwords... specifically google passwords...  everything has a main password that covers all google programs..

if she can get my google account password from having permission to be on the network, then she can also get all my chrome passwords..

although i am basically a hobo and have no sensitive information, she might be able to view my cable bill lol

I mean not really your isp is only responsible for your connection. They don't usually care too much about how secure your personal network is.. I knew a dude that said he could break WPA..Maybe WPA2. and according to ths it has been done before, but you're wireless encryption/security is the only thing that keeps you protected.
