I want to learn how to box, but I don't want to get hit in the face.

you need to eat a teaspoon of concrete n harden the fudge up by the sound of it.. just go to the boxing gym and see wtf.. there is headgear if you wish to spar.. or you could simply train without actually fighting anyone    ;)

Training without fighting anyone is like trying to drive a car without wheels.

i would encourage you just to go and suss it out..  2 different words in your sentence that are 2 different things..  Training and fighting..one happens before the other..and the other (fighting) it is a process.. you do not just go there and fight.. you would be killed in a few seconds if you do not know how to box

I always wanted to eviscerate someone with zero consequences.

If you get to the last dans /black belt.. you will be officially recognized as be a lethal weapon.. you can only use that shit in self defense

I bet he's expensive.

I was gonna interview him for an ENG (electronic news gathering) class I was taking, but he had to cancel. He seems like a nice guy though. Two of my questions were going to be how much does it cost per person per session, and is there a membership fee.
