So much about this series doesn't make sense the more you think about it. Kishimoto went so far to make Naruto a put upon outcast he didn't think of the logic of it.

This filler arc that takes us back to the "good part" of Naruto before the time skip is making us reexamine things and it's revealing new flaws that existed even back then. Like, the whole basis of Naruto's character arc is retarded, lol.
