I've worked in two restaurants in my life and never once have the cooks been incorporated in the tips We had one waiter that liked to brag about how much he made in a night, one night he made $350 in tips in 4 hours.... i made $32 before tax in that time needless to say that dude's orders took very low priority after that Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

discolé monade Posted October 7, 2017 Share Posted October 7, 2017 i've never had to tip out the cooks. and i would be pissed if i had to. the bartender i didn't mind so much. but i would only if it knew i had a butt load of actual drinks, not soda. was supposed to tip out the busboy at this one place, but he NEVER bused my tables, but expected to get tipped out. i was also pretty sure he was stealing my tips. That contract ended, I moved back to the states, married my husband, started a masters degree, and here I am killing time until I can apply to collegiate positions. Been awhile. The cooks don't get enough appreciation. see the places i had worked. the cooks were making at lease 3x what the waitstaff was. also, there was one place the the cook was absolutely the worse. food was awful, or just slow on orders.
