  1. Nice thread! It needs to be floated!
  2. But he has a hell of a more generic design! Comes off like another Kirito clone, except with fangs (ALO Kirito already has the elf ears.) He also reminds me of Yoshimori from Kekkaishi. Maybe he's more jacked than Kirito, I can't remember. But Asta is definitely the most jacked of all! Of course, it depends on your taste as far as muscles.
  3. I hope you weren't being serious by linking to TV Tropes. I don't know about narrowly defined interests. It's just people with Asperger's tend to get really involved, engrossed, some might say obsessed with certain hobbies and subjects, etc. Of course, there are levels to it. Not a hobby, but more a routine, obsessive type deal, I remember seeing a thing on TV where this guy had a thing where he liked to line up the egg carton perfectly parallel to the kitchen counter in the morning. At least it wasn't the eggs out of the carton! From what I can tell you are not anywhere near that level. Asta and his nun fixation.
  4. This is what you said. "Most aren't really bad," then you go on to talk about Hisoka. And I would argue there are a ton of characters that are definitely "really bad" in HxH, whether they are "most" of them are not, I couldn't say for sure. I see now how I could have maybe misread that, though. Aizen isn't a bad dude who does things because evil, though. He didn't like the status quo and felt that the Soul Society was corrupt, denounced the Soul King, etc. He's not wrong, and when we do find out about the Soul King, yeah, it's pretty fucked up. As the whole series goes on we find out more of the shittiness the Soul Society and its leadership and government are responsible for. Basically any villain in the series whose motivation is a grudge against the Soul Society is understandable why they would feel that way, even if what they're doing in response specifically isn't justified and is wrong. Aizen does things for entertainment, as well, which is obvious. He likes to fuck with people. He made himself Momo's mentor and then turned on her, stabbing her, and flaunted it to Toshiro, who is like her brother. Later on in the series he uses his zanpakuto to create an illusion and swap places with Momo so that Toshiro ended up stabbing her instead of Aizen. He could have swapped places with anyone else on the sidelines, or even just had the Soul Reapers fighting nobody, but he chose to do that, arguably for his own amusement. There's also another scene where Shunsui says he is going to stop Aizen from talking as he attacks him, and Aizen says he will fight Shunsui and keep talking, basically saying he's going to continue his villain monologue no matter what, which is not only more proof of Aizen doing something for his own entertainment, but one of the self-aware jokes Bleach likes to make. I thought we had already agreed that the time skip stuff in SAO Aincrad was a problem. If that's what you mean, then yes, I agree on that. I think Asuna was worse, though, she went from a shy and timid girl, justifiably scared due to living in Aincrad, opens up a bit after participating in a battle with Kirito and others (if I remember correctly,) to later being a take-no-nonsense badass bitch. People accused her of being tsundere, but really she was just annoyed with Kirito slacking off and not having his shit together. Complete personality shift, and it happened during a time skip because Asuna joined the group that was trying to beat the game. Similar but not as bad things happened with Kirito. The fact the stuff was done off-screen is a problem for sure, but at least there's an explanation and we get a sense of why they changed. And there is definitely a lot of on-screen character development. I am very curious as to what all blanks Reki filled in with Progressive. For Gon, I dunno, man, it just doesn't make sense to me. I just don't see how Gon could act the way he does given what we know abut him; his background and basically anything else in the series doesn't justify it unless there's some reveal later on that Gon has some sort of mental and/or personality disorder.

  6. Ep 16 - So that's Kirito's Perfect Control Art? What is it, exactly? It looks like Darkness Element, but I don't see why that would be the case, even if he was once known as "the black swordsman." But, he did pick a black outfit from the armory, and his current sword is black-ish... more dark blue, but ok. I dunno. Is it meant to be tree roots? Kind of surprising this wasn't explained since every other power was, or at least seemed obvious what they were. Maybe next episode. Maybe I am forgetting but I thought there was just one dagger, and to be used on Alice, not Quinella. Kirito going crazy over saving seems stupid. I have a feeling he's going to regret wasting that knife here. You can argue the Integrity Knight are innocent since they don't know any better, but Quinella sure as hell isn't. I'm not sure what luminous element is doing for the injuries. It's not a healing spell. I didn't get the idea that it was hot and could cauderize wounds, either. I don't see how it's helping to see better since it's covering it with the light, and I don't think it's a magical medical tricorder. I have no idea. Ok I'm sorry but it's hard to to take Elevator Girl seriously. I know it's supposed to be another example of Quinella's evil, but come on. She knows nothing but the elevator, not even her own name. It's like she's some RPG NPC hahaha. They have limited uses of Perfect Control Art? Then they have to recharge it by placing it in the scabbard? That sure sounds like a videogame, heh. So, is this the top of the tower finally? No? Ah hell, it's Alice. Nice little place. It won't remain peaceful for long though. Yep, Alice has definitely lost her memories and forgotten her past self. Another tree-themed sword. A lot of these swords are tree and plant themed. And I mentioned how these swords and the Perfect Control Art reminded me of zanakutos, but this one is just like Senbonzakura! Except it's an Osmanthus Tree instead of a cherry tree, whatever that is. Love the animation fight here. You can really feel how powerful Alice's sword is. Of course it wouldn't be that easy. Though I am surprised Alice didn't notice Eugeo loudly running up behind her, especially when he ran through the water. I had to re-watch that. I couldn't figure out why the wall blew out. It was when Kirito and Alice clashed attacks. Not sure why the wall sealed itself back up. Guess ADMINISTRATOR has it set up like that. If I had to guess, Alice's dragon will catch them. Not sure if they will continue fighting from there or Alice subdues Kirito or what. Not sure how they will get back to Eugeo either. Either way, there's no dagger to prick Alice with.
  7. From the sounds of it we are finally getting back to the serial killer! Should be good!
  8. Heh, for the people who accuse Black Clover of being generic, they should've seen Blue Exorcist!
  9. You're one of those people who can dish it out but can't take it. You're coming off like a hypocrite when you accused me of "bullying" you in that other thread. I mean, you don't exactly come off as normal yourself. An Aspie bullying Aspies! WAAAAAH HOW COULD YOU, POKE! And I don't "attempt to come off as normal" or anything else. I simply be myself. I'm not going to ragequit for your or anyone else, either.
  10. Kirito has been fairly consistent as a character. Not sure what contradictions you are talking about. Well, there are still characters I liked in HxH, like Kurapika and Leorio, but I would describe it like some of the Naruto characters I like - good characters trapped in a bad show. I don't care much for Killua but I can see what they were going for with him, at least. That isn't what you said, though. You said "even Hisoka isn't really bad." Hisoka does more or less make sense as a character, but what you said didn't. Gon is the one that doesn't make sense, and the overall world itself. Well, we're supposed to be talking about Black Clover and My Hero Academia, anyway. =3
  11. So it is a gag! See, that's not helping your case! Their purpose is to stop someone some speaking, and possibly make it difficult to breathe. And it doesn't look very breathable to me. "Kinkshaming?" If you're going to throw that stuff out there and expect not to be made fun of or criticized, I don't know what you're thinking. Like I said, this isn't some porn forum or fetish site. No one wants to hear about that shit, especially when it's that bizarre. I do remember the the old days, when the craziest stuff we knew about were the BDSM folks or the foot fetish people. Now, with the internet, everyone for some reason feels the need to put all this stuff out there, and in inappropriate venues, no less. Now we gotta hear about all this demented shit. Bullying "Aspies?" Please. You have to admit being so obsessed with content ratings is really fucking weird. I would call that into question regardless of whether you had Asperger's or not. And I don't care for the term "Aspie," personally. "Hope we don't meet in real life." Now you're starting to sound like Zeni LOL. And I hadn't planned on it anyway.
  12. I remember a thread about this or discussion of this cropped up on the old Lithium ASMB... it was YEARS ago. It was about Vic being a diva and getting too touchy feely with fans. Now I've learned he's also seemingly homophobic. The not signing it because it's "not canon" or because it's fan art or whatever doesn't hold water, either, since he signed a fan art of someone's original character with Edward. So, he lied about that. Well, he doesn't force people to pray and praise Jesus, from what I understand, but somehow he got the conventions to give him time to do these church sermon things on Sunday, which is just really fucking weird. Someone posted a video of one in that thread I linked that is awkward as fuck to watch. And I'm pretty sure Jesus didn't carry around Starbucks cups, Vic!
  13. Oh yeah, the Risembool Rangers. It sounds more and more like a fucking cult. He's asked his fan club members to go out and defend his good name. And apparently his own mother is a member of the club and holds the title of "Matriarch." So Vic called his mom on people!
  14. Yeah, and also Todd doesn't even like Vic. When the Adam from the Jesse Pridemore story decided to tell his side of what he saw, he posted screenshots of a conversation he had with Todd and he rips Vic and they talk about Vic's behavior. Yugh.
  15. This was Demarco's take on things. https://ask.fm/Clarknova/answers/152277838057 I can't believe he hasn't been following what's going on. He doesn't seem too concerned that Vic is playing a role in one his shows currently airing, either, even if it is a minor role. And I get the whole separate the art from the artist thing, but it's tough for me. It's one thing to say, stop supporting them because you think that might help them hurt more people, but say that's not a factor because the person gets their royalties cut off, is re-cast, dies, or you just pirate it, whatever, it's hard to get that stuff out of your head while you're consuming the media. I don't think I'd ever be able to read or what Rurouni Kenshin again, for that reason. Also the fact of a creator/writer over just one actor. At least the stuff Vic was prominent in I wasn't planning on re-watching again any time soon anyway. He's mostly in minor roles these days, and it makes me wonder if that was intentional. I also read on that one forum that maybe Vic was cast as the tentacle slug in SAO as a way to take a shot at him or make fun of. I dunno about that, but it wouldn't surprise me. But couple that with Todd playing Oberon... just... oof. As for Todd, it seems a lot more muddy with the situation going on with him. There's no huge history of past behavior (that we've heard of yet,) seemingly just this one incident, which sounds to me like it could have been consensual, and maybe Todd felt it was and Jesse Pridemore thought it wasn't. Not so sure what to think of that yet, but it's still going to be make it distracting to watch things with him in it. I still have a good amount of Fairy Tail episodes to binge. I was actually skeptical of him playing Natsu from the start, not because of experience with the sub, since I never saw it, but because Todd's voice is extremely distinctive and, well, kind of annoying, so I wasn't so keen on him playing one of the leads of a series, especially a long-runner. I could switch to the sub, but I really prefer dubs. You can just sit back and enjoy everything and not have to worry about missing onscreen action because you're reading. Maybe others are better at it than I am, but I've always had an issue there. I do see the perspective of consuming things in their original form, but I have trouble watching things subbed, as I said, and I just look at it as like a different cast for a play. Now, I think dubs really don't work for live action and comes off cheesy, plus you are removing part of someone's performance as opposed to just switching actors. Maybe it's ok for cheesy kaiji and martial arts movies, but that's about it. Heh, if I hadn't dragged my feet, I'd already be all the way through the dubbed episodes and have no choice to watch subbed now! *sigh*
  16. That's kind of it, but I wouldn't say just having sex while drunk is considered rape. Maybe you make a bad decision in that state that you regret, but I wouldn't consider that rape. If someone was drunk to the point they passed out, then yes. But yeah, Todd considered the thing consensual. That name he gave wasn't generic apparently and was that person's actual name, and that guy gave his side of things. He said he felt like he was a bad friend that night for letting the girl drink so much. Links - https://mobile.twitter.com/neumaverick/status/1091106085006524416 Well, looks like Todd deleted his previous posts and says he shouldn't have responded the way he did. This is what he's posted now - Edit - Now I see she said she was unconscious. *throws hands up* If that's true, then it's definitely rape. So, there is more difference in the two sides of the story than I originally knew/thought. Even less sure what to think now. Edit 2 - The underage girl in that other story was underage in the terms she was 20, so one year too young to drink. So yeah.
  17. Other voice actors are chiming in, people that would know Vic personally, so I don't think there's any reason to doubt any of this. Especially when there's photographic evidence and testimonials. Apparently Sean Schemmel is liking #kickVic tweets, and Stephanie Sheh shared this ANN article, which is well done - https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2019-01-30/far-from-perfect-fans-recount-unwanted-affection-from-voice-actor-vic-mignogna/.142212 A lot of the Vic stuff is being cataloged in this thread on this forum, and the thread for the ANN article. Besides just the overly touchy feely stuff, someone claimed that Vic tried to rape her at his house, getting as far as getting on top of her with his shirt off, before she escaped. This was before the VA days when he was mostly doing Christian stuff and the church he was with didn't want to rock the boat by looking into it or doing anything about it apparently. And another girl said Vic put his hand up her skirt on an elevator at an anime convention.
  18. At least this means less opportunities for them to reanimate the corpse of Bebop. Anyway, since the front part already got chopped off, and these were just reruns, I don't think this will affect acquisitions too much.
  19. TOONAMI IS DYING!
  20. More toxic now? I dunno about that. I think people have mellowed. Maybe I'm just not going to the right places.
  21. Lol wtf. As a joke I hope, and not trying to hit him.
  22. Yeah seems like he's really deluding himself here. I'm not familiar with the series, but to confidentally claim that character isn't gay... And as I unferstand it CLAMP often includes gay characters in their work? This isnt highly pertinent, but I still don't like their art style. Body proportions way off there. Too tall an slender, heads too small. Think they did the Code Greass art too. The style must have been toned down there.
  23. Well now it's not the show. You're contradicting yourself. First you said Hisoka isn't really bad, now you say he's almost always treated as a terrible person. I just remember people talking about how special Gon was and how much potential he has. There's lots of shonens with well-developed side characters. The Zoldyck house is on a celebrity house tour... Killua is strung up in chains being tortured by his brother. But Killua acts unimpressed and then it turns out he could just get out of the chains on his own all along. Togashi is clearly going for some LOL WACKY ANIME JOKES there, but we're still supposed to believe Killua has had an abusive upbringing and his family are monsters, even though he no-sells the torture and the whole thing is treated like a wacky sitcom. Trying to have his cake and eat it too. It's one thing to have villains with a comedic bent, but to treat their actual terrible deeds like comic relief... "KILLUA IS BORED AND UNIMPRESSED BY HIS ROUTINE TORTURE LOLOLOLOL"
  24. No that's not it. I just don't like HxH's execution, or lack thereof. The world doesn't make sense, and, at the very least, the characters aren't appealing.
  25. Yeah, even if he isn't a full-on predator, it sounds like he's definitely done some jerkish, creepy, and weird things.
