I was going to make a thread for the SAO panel, but since you already talked about it here, I'll just put my post here - In my subscription notifications I discovered that Aniplex did some panels. I watched the one for War of Underworld Part 2/Final Season. I wished they didn't use that urgent action music lol. It makes me feel anxious. I converted the 187 cm to 6'1! That director, Manabu Ono, is tall for a Japanese guy! According to Ai Kayano, Alice's VA, people at overseas events chant SAO like madmen. Alice actually appeared in SAO videogames before she did in the anime, and this girl played her there first and was kept for the anime. Interesting. I didn't know that. Sometimes events are rearranged to fit the flow of the episodes. Or things are cut for time constraints. I suppose we could already surmise this. As we already knew, Reki is quite involved with the process. But he has actually made the call to have some things happen differently in the anime so people who read the books will still have surprises. They tried to make the worm spell head mage bitch casts be as unsettling as possible. I'd say they succeeded. They confirmed it is indeed Eugeo's hand who pushes Eldrie to keep going. GHOST Eugeo confirmed? So this means cyber AI ghosts are a thing? They didn't say why the director changed from the first 2 seasons and movie to Alicization, but the director said since the setting and tone was changing, along with a lot of new characters, he could be mindful of the past seasons as well as making his own mark. Honestly I haven't noticed much difference in style to from Alicization and War of Underworld compared to the first 2 seasons. They will actually try to match expressions and mouth movements to how the VAs perform. Not sure if this is standard or not. But, it goes to show you how the dub VAs have to almost do some reverse engineering for their performance, and if not doing a performance that sounds like the Japanese VA, at least do something that fits the character. Matsuoka - the VA for Kirito, his favorite character is Lisbeth. Come on, dude. They had Ai Kayano do some readings of Alice's lines. I have to say, wow, what a transformation. Kayano has met Bryce at a panel in L.A. that had at least herself, Bryce, and Cherami Leigh at it. I didn't think it was that common to mix Japanese and English VAs at panels together. She is a longtime fan of SAO and watched it since high school. Wow. She wants Alice, Asuna, Sinon, and Leafa to team up. Hopefully that happens. Oh hey, they just said the English dub version will begin streaming in August. Don't know if that means it won't be on Toonami this time, which would be surprising. It could air on Toonami and then be streaming on the Adult Swim site and elsewhere soon afterwards and that could still technically be true. Either way, that is a very fast turnaround for the dub, just as I said it would be! The Japanese actors had a hard time saying Alice Synthesis Thirty, Central Cathedral and other technical terms in English Reki was not thinking about when he wrote it lmao. They talk about a new videogame that's coming out. I never played any of the games since usually games based on anime aren't that great. Anyone ever play them? Uhh because they did before? Not simuldub level, but SAO was dubbed very quickly in the past. We don't know what sort of dubbing abilities Bang Zoom! might have to deal with the work restrictions, but I wouldn't count that crew out either.

It did get better and more focused after that squad from the traditional Japanese area was introduced, but I didn't like how the powers got nonsensical and over the top with Sho's, and then how Shinra counters him. Then the one girl can heal people because her power has the snake and staff healing symbol... And I feel like Shinra and Sho's powers would have to be backtracked since no one can do anything to them. But yeah hopefully it can improve and get back on track by then.

Looks like the suicide ghost episode was last week, which I do remember well. It was the rumors episode and this episode I feel like I have very little memory of. But all 3 feel very disconnected to the first 7 episodes. Where before it was still about solving the mystery and catching Lil Slugger, and all the characters were connected.

Not that it matters at this point, but the banner on the OP stretches the first page. I didn't think that was possible on this website. I think it happened on the last thread too.

I haven't read the whole articles yet word by word and not sure if I want to, because again, spoilers, but from what I understand, it was going to show stuff that happened during a time skip in the manga, maybe even potentially explain things better, and was going to be supervised by the original author. You don't get much better for a filler arc than that. Someone needs to look it up and give us a spoiler-free report lol.

It seemed odd that Endeavor is randomly getting focus now with no build up. And yeah a bad start to redemption story. Giving flowers and trying to woo his ex-wife is classic abuser tactic and doesn't come off well at all. And didn't Endeavor never love her to begin with and was only using her to breed heroes? So what sort of relationship is he even trying to restore? Yeah things happening off-screen is pretty lame. We see this battle showing Endeavor giving his all to stop a villain and protect people. But, that's his job. He can save people still be an asshole. He's already done this when the show was still trying to portray him as an asshole. So I'm not sure what this is supposed to accomplish. And there is nothing wrong with his character being like that either. The show has tried to establish from early on that not all heroes are good people. And honestly I'd rather have Endeavor be put in his place than redeemed. So yeah again it's a bad start to a redemption story. But it's only one episode and hopefully it will improve. The author did such a good job with Bakugo's development. I'd hate to see him bungle it here.

I swear it's like someone went on a Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas-level booze and drug craze and then just made whatever they saw into episodes. Even the most crazy Adult Swim shows have some sense of pacing and logic. This show is nonstop nonsense at mach speed and most of the time it isn't even funny. I guess Demarco thought we would like it due to the superficial anime similarities.

She got the horns but otherwise looked the same when she used the sealing spell. So eyes must have changed from using it on the prince or after she came out of the bird form. Maybe part 2 will show that. Otherwise I have something else to go back and check.

Black Clover avoided filler for so long by the manga being so far ahead, right? I guess going seasonal is out of the question LOL.
