  1. Butthurt over my thread criticizing your religion so you go with this sophomoric attempt to get a rise out of me by making a bad parody thread attacking one of my favorite series?
  2. I mostly didn't even look at the TV. But I mean, I already knew about the character designs, thanks to SOME PEOPLE.
  3. Kinda have to blame Gundam itself for that. The franchise is full of political machinations, which inevitably leads to arguments about real world politics in the threads. But, I wish people would get over the election results and move on, or at least keep the political stuff to the "Babbling" folder. I enjoyed it too. Of course, I liked the slice of life stuff IN SPAAAAACE. Got to have good down periods and story and reasons to fight to have good action! The action was good, and the eating and talking episodes were relaxing and calming... which is something I could use more of these days. You are right that even without action there was drama and suspense involved. Not sure what I would give it. Don't like to rank things. 7 or 8 out of 10, I suppose?
  4. I think it's pretty funny that I usually hate Gundam and I actually liked this one and most everyone else hated it besides me and Jman. ;D I love the way Mikazuki brutally, mercilessly slaughters his enemies. He's no whiny crybaby bitch like Amuro! ;D ROFL... I googled it and my brain meant to write the actual title but my hands wrote Mobile Shit Gundam of their own volition! LOOOOOOOL! I also love Mikazuki's violent, no-fucks-given brawling style. And he broke anime rules by saying fuck this duel and just attacked! That was great! ;D But yeah, add this along with G Gundam as the only two Gundam series I like. Hmm, do I have issues for enjoying the way Mikazuki kills his opponents?
  5. People really should be more respectful and grateful to Bleach. Bunch of ignorant, entitled, whiny INGRATES! It's anime armageddon without Bleach! You hear me?! ARMAGEDDON!
  6. They won't fill the slots of a possible mondo expansion with the old ASA dead horses again lest they want to immediately lose it. Space Dandy, maybe, but that's about it. Stuff like Bleach, Kenshin, and Yu Yu Hakusho would be great slot fillers.
  7. Even if we don't agree on the level of Bleach's problems, you have to admit Naruto got way shittier than Bleach ever did. And the direction its story took... ugh. And yes, people kept lapping it up all the way to the end. But again, Bleach was still selling enough to keep getting published. It was Kubo's health that was at issue. So, if Kubo was in good health, he wouldn't have had to end things prematurely.
  8. Bleach never fell, PERIOD. This is all a bunch of bullshit from nitpicky haters. If they don't like the manga they should drop it. That's how I see it. Yet people kept reading even as they complained. Why? Also, not everyone who read it to the end were constantly complaining like that. Plenty of people still have an overall positive view of Bleach, even if they did have some gripes. So this whole notion of Bleach being something hated by everyone all across the board, and it being bad AS A FACT, is nonsense. Good or bad is in the eye of the beholder. Figures I log onto the boards after yet another break because of people pissing me the hell off and I see THIS shit. Fuckin' Moose, man. Who else?
  9. Again with your lies? Bleach wasn't canceled. Kubo ended it because he was sick. Not going to bother watching the video as I have heard this same tired shit a thousand times already. Not going to have the same arguments over and over again. Get something else to do with your time besides making threads to start shit, Moose.
  10. Yeeeeeesss. I'll definitely try to make it to the theater to see this if it's anywhere in my vicinity.
  11. You and I both know that Demarco slogs through the rest of day and rushes to Toonami, like a kid getting home from school to watch cartoons. Probably the only other thing he genuinely enjoys is the music stuff. The rest of Adult Swim has been crap for years. They fucked over Metalocalypse. They didn't renew Titan Maximum even though it did well. Boondocks... not even sure what happened there. I lost track with ATHF and Robot Chicken. Maybe they were/are still good. Dunno, just lost track. They play live action garbage and continue to give comedy cancer like Tim & Eric and Eric Andre jobs. Even if that stuff was funny, I refuse to watch it on principle, because this channel is supposed to be a home for animation! And everyone says how these original comedies are "so cheap to produce", but the names on these shows get bigger and bigger. How much does it cost to pay Cabin Boy, Captain Janeway, or the bald guy from The Daily Show? Venture Brothers, one of the few good shows they have left that I keep up with, gets a new season about as often as a new volume of Hiatus is released! Their staple, Family Guy, jumped the shark and became an unfunny parody of itself eons ago! And I don't think we need to recount what happened with ASA again. So, enemy or not, Adult Swim overall, has fallen quite a ways. Toonami is one of the few shining beacons left, that exists in spite of Adult Swim's shittiness and poor direction. I don't understand why Nick would do that if it did well enough for them. Maybe they wanted a cut of merch and toy sales or something? Probably can't get that with anime like you can with original, or at least, domestic productions. About all I can think of. But then one wonders why did they get it in the first place? And of course I vividly recall that not long after the last Saturday morning cartoon block died, and Kai's airing along with it, Toonami snatched it up. It is odd though that nobody, not even Disney, would want it! And it's not like you can't say it's not a sure bet. Was it simply not safe enough? I mean, some pretty hardcore shit goes down on Rebels. People die with regularity, and in general, other fucked-uppery. Not sure why Super would be so much more traumatic to young viewers' eyes. Maybe DBZ isn't as big as Pokemon, but it's still pretty damn big! Guess maybe Disney only wants the most toyetic stuff? Dunno. I mean, DBZ still had tons of toys and merch, even if it wasn't a show made to shill crap like Pokemon, or I guess what that Yokai Watch show is. That is true. This is why I have to do my weekly re-watches. Even though I'll try to make sure to post during commercials, I'll sometimes slip up and post during a show, maybe if I don't get back to my recliner in time, or I'm pumped about something happening, or it's one of the show's I care less about. There's also the general buzz and excitement of the night, and jumping between chairs and screens (that are a mere two feet or so apart, but still), that I just don't feel I get a fully focused viewing of the shows on Saturday, hence my re-watches. Of course, as I announced earlier some weeks ago, I've abandoned this policy for Naruto and Hiatus and am only going to watch those shows once, because fuck those shows. Even my patience isn't infinite. So, what you say is... an option I could conceivably do. Maybe I could look at it like the old encore setup ASA and Toonami both had at different points. Though those encores were never really nothing more than background noise for me, if I even left them on. I could consider one my "viewing with discussion" airing and one my "focused viewing" airing. Unsure which one I would make which. Typically viewing and discussing comes first, but since the second airing is on Toonami, I don't know. Not sure how many people would show up for the 8:30pm airing. You see how some people only barely make it home in time for Toonami, just back from work, spending time out doing something, or whatever it might be. It would also break with years of precedence and tradition! I really can't stress enough how much this upsets everything! Yeah, it might be a good thing, if it does well, it could lead to more action in primetime. But... my routine. And again, what if it doesn't do well? What it does about as well as the Kai encore? Was that due to it being a rerun of last week's ep? Was there that much of an overlap in viewers? Or did people just not know about it? Or was it simply that there is no interest of action animation outside of Toonami and the odd toyetic anime? I don't recall Adult Swim advertising that airing, either. I could be wrong. Adult Swim could just as stupidly throw it out there with no promotion, like the Kai encore. And, let's say it does do well. What if then no one shows up for the Toonami airing? That could lead to bad ratings for Toonami's Super airing and then possibly the entire block. Could this lead to them moving Toonami to primetime, or at least expanding it that far, or do they see that all they need is Super and keep just that for Primetime and cancel Toonami or severely downsize it? Things are doing well enough now (as far as I know, I dropped the ratings thread because fuck that thread), but this is a tricky formula to get right, and for all we know what we have right now is a careful balancing act. We've already seen what damage has been caused just by moving the block up thirty minutes or airing a show people don't generally don't care for (IBO). Why fix what isn't broken? There's no telling what could happen from this level of meddling. And since the 8pm thing has nothing to do with Toonami, I'm wary to call it a boon for Toonami, or even action animation. It's getting this treatment due it being new to American TV Dragonball. I again point to any number of the possible scenarios I highlighted above, many of them not good. As I said, this is a careful balancing act that we don't want to mess with too much. And I do want Toonami to grow and improve. But how? When they moved the block forward, ratings went down. So, the only way you can expand is by adding time, adding days. But not moving shows. People are already set in their habit of watching the shows when they already come on. So they're kind of stuck since all the big shows come on, well, late at night on Saturday night. Perhaps they can add further airings, which would be quite welcome for Naruto and One Piece. Perhaps you might say the other long-runners are premieres or higher value, so they shouldn't air more than once a week. So maybe you encore them? Obviously if you do this, it couldn't be every night of the week, or rather, the weeknights plus Saturday, we know Sunday will always be Comedy's night. So, everywhere I look here, I'm really running into roadblocks. Demarco said the block could "expand as needed", but it seems limited in that. You move things up, you disrupt the viewers' routine. You add a show, it stays just as long as it gets VERY good ratings. They fucked up these previous chances by airing AoT reruns and the aforementioned move, and there's no telling if Super will do well with it being an encore airing. This, also, of course, takes away a Family Guy airing. Though, take note this didn't matter when they were airing premieres of AoT and Space Dandy - the error was airing reruns or moving something there. But, I'm tired and babbling and going on tangents now. I should probably leave this for tomorrow. I'm just... concerned. This new development could potentially upset the careful balance Toonami has achieved, and we're looking at a block that is nothing but long-runners (of which they've just added another) and a permanent Gundam slot, which came to fruition just like I warned it would. Where do they put new shows? If you were to ask me, I'd say drop Hiatus and Shittuden, but of course, any one of us would have our least favorite long-runners we'd want to drop. The problem is, a good amount of people loyally watch all of them, and Demarco doesn't want to screw over loyal viewers. So, then, can Toonami realistically expand enough to add more shows, somehow breaking beyond its "cage?" That is, assuming of course, this Super encore doesn't throw everything into complete disarray.
  12. To Top_Gun this post must have burned like Holy Water. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  13. I was catching up with Shippuden earlier and noticed that myself. Of course, I only got a few seconds into it when I realized it wasn't HD, so I switched to the HD version, which promptly gave me an error message. I went to Adult Swim's video section, which endlessly buffered and never loaded up the video for whatever reason. Hulu, of course, did not have the episodes dubbed. Wasted a good twenty minutes fucking with that until I finally threw my hands up and watched "elsewhere." Thankfully, my DVR recorded the next four episodes. Shippuden and One Piece both got fucktisized by Daylight Savings Time that week. I thought it was recording things properly, but it seems I was too over-confident, as things weren't labeled as what they actually were, with "Naruto: Shippuden" and "One Piece" being chunks of the movie. That OP is blatant and spoilery as hell, by the way. Which you can tell even if you don't know what's going to happen. Not that Kishimoto's writing is any more subtle, though. And One Piece's OP is still edited on the On-Demand, for whatever reason. Not sure on the other shows. Also, I don't think you get the full OP of Naruto with the most recent week, or the ability to fast-forward. It's screwy like that.
  14. Maybe they're trying to make up for the bad influence of Sanji. ;D Can't say I've seen the walk-in bathtub ones, though.
  15. Why do you or anyone else respond to Zeni seriously? You know he is just doing this for the lulz, right? I mean, this post would be admirable, if it were addressed to practically anyone else. You'd be better off just ignoring Zeni or acting goofy along with him.
  16. ROFL. Man, I've never seen those ads. Are some of them regional? Then again, I try to focus my posting during the commercials so I won't miss stuff by posting during the shows, so maybe I don't catch all of them.
  17. But Lucas always said he only waited to make the prequels for as long as he did because he was waiting for the technology to catch up so he could create the story he wanted to tell. This is also why he says the original movies were abandoned abominations that needed the special edition crap in them. I mean, I get your analogy, I guess, but it doesn't really work for me since, I, uhh, like the prequels.
  18. Actually George Lucas got upset at criticism of the prequels and ragequit after that, saying "Star Wars is dead." So without Disney, there'd no more Star Wars. And I wouldn't call what we got afterwards "Bleach's long self-destruction." But you end it there and so much is left unfinished and untold. Soul King, Squad Zero, backstories, Bankai reveals... we got a lot of stuff in the Final Arc, and while we didn't get everything we were hoping to see, we got a lot. So I'm thankful for what we did get and I'm glad it didn't end with Aizen's defeat, since the story was not over with yet. I didn't entirely like the ending, namely the fact that the way Kubo put people together was as arbitrary as placing action figures beside each other, since Kubo had his anti-romance stance for the whole manga, none of this was built up and apparently these people hooked up during a timeskip. So, I would've preferred no couples shown at the end, and I sure as hell did not want the pairings that did happen, because - I don't think Kubo forgot characters. He had a limited number of chapters and pages remaining, so he prioritized. That's why we didn't get to see everybody. It made sense to focus on Ichigo and his friends, "the main group", with the final chapter. Only so many people he can show, after all. Hopefully, the extra pages and maybe some short stories in the upcoming data book can clear up some of this. Wouldn't mind Kubo just dumping some of his notes, either.
  19. Not sure if he could do that. I mean, other mangas have gone on hiatus, but who knows if there would be a spot waiting for Kubo when he got back? Until the labor laws in Japan are changed and the manga industry changes how it does things, there may have been no way around this. Kubo did take some breaks, though. And he was hospitalized on more than one occasion, I believe. I'm guessing it was more serious than we thought. He didn't simply "get sick" those times. He was sick the whole time. Not good. Of course, the reason for one break was given "to research past chapters and prepare for the final battle." I'm sure Kubo did do that but he probably took a load off during that break, as well.
  20. Fan interest is high enough. The DVDs continue to sell. Blu-Rays are being sold. You saw the ratings it was getting right up to its ending on Toonami. Demarco himself said that if they were still making Bleach, they'd still be airing it. Adult Swim probably doesn't have the resources or the pull to co-produce/co-fund a Bleach return, though, and they'd probably be the only ones to do it. It's an unfortunate fact that the Bleach anime was seemingly cancelled in Japan due to low ratings, though we were never given an official reason. Apparently people just couldn't deal with the filler. Why they put up with even worse filler with Naruto (or the shitty direction its canon story goes in), I'll never know. So, it may be a difficult thing to pull off without some sort of push on the Japan side. I'm guessing the final salute to Kubo was this live action movie, since they probably couldn't get the anime going again. Also, there's apparently going to be extra pages for the last chapter in the upcoming data book, so I'm looking forward to that.
  21. Well, that's unfortunate if true. But at least some jobs were saved. What is the solution, then? Bend over backwards and give them tax breaks and de-regulate to encourage them to stay here? I'm sure you wouldn't be on board with that. And we can't afford so many tax breaks in this economy, and with some of the things Trump has planned, like the infrastructure spending. Maybe it will drive the price up to the point where no one will buy their products and they'll be forced to return to America or go out of business. You know they're only exploiting foreign workers. They'll do whatever they can to to be as cheap and greedy as possible. If they had their way, we'd have slavery back, because THAT'S THE FREE MARKET HUR HUR. As I said, I haven't been paying attention to the news the past week or two. Took a break from the boards, as well. I've been trying to cool off. But regardless of motive, it's good of him to put Boeing in their place, if it was needed. Well that's unfortunate. But I again ask, regardless of the website he ran, do we know for sure Bannon himself is racist? And I don't recall seeing anything racist on Breitbart, either, but I only saw a handful of stories from it pop up on Google News. Most of them seem pretty good to me. I've read up on them. They sound like they're know what they're doing. Maybe we can finally crush ISIS and be done with things in that miserable part of the world. True, Petraeus did do that, and look how he got crucified, while Hillary got off scot free. And still others rot in jail for doing for less worse than what Hillary did. It's not equal justice. In any case, Petraeus, outside of that one incident, did a lot for this country. His strategies were working. All Hillary has done is ruin everything she touches as she hungered for more and more power. I was mainly referring to the people who were butthurt over Trump and his win. There was a whole dorm crying, if one story was to be believed. Loved watching all the celebrities losing their shit, too. Still waiting for everyone to leave the country like they promised! Amy Schumer said she would leave and never come back! I'm holding her to that promise, even if it was a joke, damn it! Can't stand her! I doubt he will fail. That would probably only happen if Congress doesn't go along with him, which would be to their peril. They'll be voted out of power if they don't go along with Trump. I don't see him going into full "civil rights abuse mode", either. We've already seen his diverse cabinet picks. We've heard his comments on gay marriage. The matter is over with and settled. Of course, some liberals quickly forget how much they love "diversity" when it's a minority they don't agree with; they were quite nasty and frankly downright racist and sexist towards various conservative minorities and women over the years. Liberals abhor diversity of views, after all. That's why they're all acting like Trump winning is so apocalyptic. It really is quite a sight to behold. Funny, but also sad, unfortunately. Either way, we can't do any worse than we were under the Self-hating American Socialist Eurocrats of the last eight years. Their ways weren't working. No sense in doing more of the same. Of course, if I'm wrong, I'll own up to it. I since regret both of my votes for Bush, after all. But... probably not as bad as Gore or Kerry? Bleh. I am just hoping we can at least have our first good president since Reagan.
  22. Yes, still don't know what the fuck was up with that. That debt help ad is something you'd see in deep cable. Scary to see such a low quality ad during Toonami.
  23. Again, you've got a quote on this board. It doesn't show who you reply to otherwise. x_x
