  1. I have nearly Elephantine memory and they played those shows like 80 billion times, so yeah, it's possible. And like I said I got sick of them and stopped watching them a good several years before they finally put them out of their misery.
  2. Again, nothing I've personally ever heard of happening or witnessed. People are just treating it like any other vacation and travelling to some random location? Doesn't sound very patriotic. You're supposed to shoot off fire works and reflect on the founding of this country. Now, you might say that using it as yet another excuse to get drunk and stuff your face (and blow shit up, as Gaffigan accurately describes), isn't so patriotic, but what you've described is less patriotic still. Unless maybe they were to travel to some major city with spectacular fire works, which again, one would think would be closer by. For instance, I could travel to Austin and watch those fire works, but it's way too many people, too much traffic. Plus, fuck Austin, it's a hive of hipsters, hippies, and hobos. There's very few things worth going to Austin for. CaptainStarwind[/member] does Hersheypark have fireworks? Though this is something I always thought of going on with New Year's Eve. 4th of July falls on one single day where you don't get days off around it, unlike Christmas+New Year's, and each city is known for their own particular iconic New Year's celebration. And again all I've ever heard of is people celebrating the 4th at home, maybe at a friend's or relative's house, but always somewhere relatively nearby, not these cross-country road trips you guys are describing. Finally, there is no "Independence Day Weekend." The holiday is celebrated on an actual date. It's not like something like Thanksgiving, which is always on the last Thursday of November. So, there's no guarantee of it falling on, much less close to, the weekend. Like this year, it's plumb in the middle of the week practically!
  3. Well that doesn't make any sense. Every case I've heard of personally and what's been portrayed in all of the media and entertainment, fiction and non-fiction, I've consumed, asserts that 4th of July is a "stay-at-home" holiday. This is what people do on 4th of July -
  4. Everyone I know and everyone around here in town just goes to watch the fireworks in the park. I suppose you could drive into a larger city to watch fireworks or drive out into the boonies to shoot your own off but I've never heard of anyone taking dedicated cross-country trips on 4th of July. Then again, next door, there's a lot more cars and people there than usual. But they've been there the past several days, maybe a week or more. Surely they wouldn't be celebrating 4th of July that long!
  5. Oh okay. Never saw that one. And just looking at the pictures Mochi posted... wow she does look a lot different!
  6. That really doesn't help. There's so many red shirts that bite it in this show. That's why I laughed after I saw the show, when before it aired people before were saying ANYONE CAN DIE NO ONE IS SAFE... when there's a pretty obvious group of people that aren't going to die, and everyone that does are obvious throwaway characters.
  7. I hope all the sharp implements and ropes are kept away from Demarco in the event cable goes the way of Blockbuster.
  8. Crunchyroll is just subs and I don't know what the fuck "Rooster Teeth" is. I ain't gonna' double dip.
  9. Put them on the stream, if they aren't already. They can justify having them (let's face it Demarco probably cuddles with the Bebop tapes when he tucks in for the night), without doing any damage to the block. Last time we lost the opening slot and half the block, a double blow due to the double dopiness of having Attack on Titan reruns lead the block and running those ASA shows into the ground at the end, which had been going on long before Toonami even came back! How much more will we lose this time if they make another such colossal blunder with the ratings so bad the premieres are now doing the kind of numbers those ASA dead horses were doing back then?! Toonami was the last ditch effort to save anime on Adult Swim. If it's starting to do this bad now... It's not a good idea to try anything else that will only make things worse content and ratings-wise.
  10. No. They ran it to death for 10 years. It needs to stay gone for 10 years. Or maybe 5, at least. I mean, fuck, I've got all these shows memorized, and I wasn't even watching the reruns habitually right up until the end like some people around here.
  11. But that's not 4th of July. It's like half a week away from it.
  12. Who the hell goes on vacation for 4th of July? That doesn't even make any sense. I've never heard of anyone doing that. Everybody just goes and watches their local fireworks or shoots their own off, or both.
  13. It's illegal to shoot off fireworks within the city limits. Not that that stops everybody but there really isn't enough room, anyway, unless you feel like setting your house or yard on fire, or the neighbors'. And I'd rather not be around the people I'd have to be around to shoot them off outside of town. We're probably just going to see the city's fireworks in the park... on Tuesday, on actual Fourth of July...
  14. Demarco's explanation is they don't have time to watch entire shows before they pick them up (presuming they didn't just watch them on their own already, not for work), so they watch like 3-5 episodes and if they think it will work for Toonami, they pick it up.
  15. Don't underestimate their incompetence.
  16. I've seen commercials and I believe even tuned in for a few minutes of it before. Live P.D. is basically a live version of Cops.
  17. Wtf "Thursday rule" are you talking about?
  18. I don't think Poke was being entirely serious with that post... But Demarco does make a good scapegoat. It's either that or we go back to blaming everything on Kim Manning or Mike Lazzo.
  19. He said the programming department was responsible for the AoT reruns. So if it's the same case again they're as stupid now as they were then and apparently don't even learn from history and precedence! That doesn't explain every other asinine decision, though. Again, we have no proof of this Super contract obligation you guys keep floating.
  20. At least now we know Jman really did sour on One Piece and it wasn't just an act to mess with Moose. Jman has bitched about other dead shows he hated for years after the fact. Don't expect him to stop any time soon.
  21. I already have the Funimation streaming service, Netflix, and Hulu. Not sure what the point of getting that VRV thing would be.
  22. Stagnate? Those shows were stagnated on TV. That's what lead to all those timeslots being lost, running the ASA dead horses into the ground. Let them stay in the vault.
  23. Well they weren't going to play Jack in a shitty timeslot, so yeah that one was added to air it. But we've had that timeslot before. Last time it was lost because they reran Attack on Titan immediately after it ended, cratering the ratings. See a pattern here? So, something else could definitely air there, if it's a big enough show, but if they play reruns we're probably just going to lose it again.
  24. The other marathons were never this far away from the actual holiday. This is just ridiculous that they would use this as an excuse for another one. Why would fireworks go off during the weekend?
