This Shittuden filler has caused a vacuum of disinterest and uncaring almost as big as Hiatus. And good god are those villain character designs horrible. I give the anime team credit for trying to tie it in with the main show with a FORBIDDEN JUTSU that looks like those nuke jutsus Pain was talking about, and the guy and girl look okay, but ehh. Bubble Jutsu, really? Naruto doesn't know Jiraiya is dead? ROFL Sai is making the leeches. Okay that is legitimately funny.

Yeah the completely new generation of characters and the kids talking about the war like it was a long time ago were what made me think this had to at least be decades later. A primer would've definitely helped, I think. But the show just jumps right in. And that flash forward in the first episode doesn't help. Confusing. Yeah that wasn't explained at all, unless I missed it somehow. And I usually don't get confused by shows. But this one.. x_x
