What a coincidence. I've been binging CinemaSins videos for the past couple days! That video hit the nail on the head with just about everything. I'm never going to get over the teacup cutting Kaneki's hand. Like seriously does the author just forget his own lore? They introduce a fuckton of characters one after the other without developing them. If the show is cutting all this stuff from the manga and rushing through the material, why not cut all these extra pointless characters? So ONE EYED OWL is probably the Anteiku Owner (still don't know his name). I thought this might be the case, but the show completely abandoned everything going on in the episode before the season finale, so... Like Daos said, the whole "anti-discrimination" message of the show is mind-numbingly stupid from the get go. FEEL SORRY FOR MONSTERS THAT EAT PEOPLE. Wow, there's actually people in the comments section defending this shit. So there's some Twilight Zone out there where people actually do like this show. I mean, I knew it had to be true, because it was "top requested" and is super-popular, but to actually see it... Yeah yeah, I know Youtube comments are the asshole of the internet, but I couldn't resist! Plus, not all channels' viewers are horrible. Some have a dedicated viewerbase that are actually pretty decent. It's clear this particular video brought out the Tokyo Ghoul fanboys though.

I couldn't figure out where the ratings were on their website. The "brilliant" HxH only one decimal point higher than Naruto? LOOOOOOOL. I think many anime fans must grade high, or are very generous. Or maybe it's like that 7/10 thing that goes on with videogames. Or maybe it's a lot of new fans and so the first shows they see don't seem so bad. I dunno', though. Did you see GXP? It was pretty horrid, and the ratings were so bad it got down-slotted heavily pretty quickly, which almost never happens. Still, the kind of badness in that show I don't think is the same kind here. That show knew what it was. Tokyo Ghoul is just an endless series of baffling incompetent decisions. Hmm, most coal miner's probably hate coal, and coal mining. Pretty much every movie, book, or documentary deals with how horrible it is to be a coal miner. They do it because it pays well. I get what you're saying, though. Main character (can't remember his name at the moment, maybe that's a good thing) was shown to be a technophobe who hated coils, so it doesn't make much sense for him to do a job that surrounds him with them. That might be because barely any of it was translated at the time. Which probably isn't a good sign, either, LOL. But apparently, the anime compressed a fuckton of chapters into those episodes, like some ungodly amount. Still, I can't imagine how that story would be much better or make much more sense if had a lot more room to breathe. Ok, how the hell do you end the season with no wrap-up or checking on the other characters, and abandoning multiple things that were going on before this episode? Did we really need a whole 20 minures on mind games and torture? Did they not plan out anything?!

I wouldn't say Deadman Wonderland sucked. It was fun and over the top and unlike this show wasn't taking itself too seriously nor thought it was making some grand statement. The anime was good enough for what it was but you could tell there was more potential there it never got to simply because it was so short. Hell Toonami fans so strongly demanded it be run again that it returned long after the first airing, which is the only time something like that has happened with this block. With this show I've heard the manga differences so I suppose it's possible, but I dunno. Is it really worth finding out either way? Plenty of other anime or manga I'd rather dive into than prove for myself whether the Tokyo Ghoul manga really doesn't suck.

What's the worst? Tokyo Ghoul, Dimension W, or Tenchi Muyo GXP. Hmm, on the Toonami Showdown Podcast, Gman decided to read the manga to compare. Apparently the anime cuts out a lot of the character growth, interactions, plot details, etc, to rush to get to the fights and gore. Order of events are also rearranged and things in gemeral are altered a bit. So characters are better developed and what they do makes a lot more sense, story is better, etc. Supposedly. I almost want to read it out of morbid curiousity, but this show has me so infuriated (especially considering what we could've gotten instead), that I don't know if I want to bother. The whole franchise is pretty tainted for me at this point.

So the air push Pain needs to recharge. Interesting. So he does have limits. Giant Rasengans. Nice. It's that neurotic ungraceful frog LOL. Isn't there some way Katsuyu could instantly confer all the information so she doesn't have to keep telling him stuff? I feel like an ability like that wouldn't be out of the realm given what we've seen her do so far. Pain, you're cracked. You don't know what you're talking about. Did he not throw the Rasen-Shuriken before? AAHHH it ends there?!

Or maybe instead of having her save everyone, let some of them die, so Pain's attack has more impact besides knocking some buildings down, and Tsunade still gets to fight. I mean hell I wouldn't even care if she lost, since everyone got whipped by Pain, but Kishimoto could have at least let her fight. Either way, this was a dumb and lazy way to take her out of the fight.

In response to the whole THIS ABILITY WILL SHORTEN YOUR LIFESPAN, that never matters. Hell, it didn't matter in FMA Brotherhood, it sure as fuck isn't going to matter here. Naruto brought the badass giant frogs. EXTREMELY CONVENIENT that Tsunade with Katsuyu was able to protect everyone and also leave her powerless so she couldn't fight Pain... At least Shino's clan protected themselves. Oh hey the show remembered Hinata exists. Okay that healy chompy jutsu is bullshit. So I guess Pain is able to fly the same way he controls air as a weapon. Naruto got strong enough to one shot a Pain? Come on now.
