It's their deadpan expressions while wiggling that get me every time. Kanna and our yet to appear dragon's especially. That ACCA op started off with a Lupin tinge to me before morphing near immediately into E7's second op, the rapping one. Visuals even reminded me of Fujiko Mine just a bit.

So...how we liking this season's openings and endings? Any favorites? Perhaps it'll come as no surprise, but my favorites come from the shows I consider the best of the season. First, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu Season 2, for perfectly conveying the brooding, melancholic atmosphere/world weariness that seems to surround Yakumo. It gets me perfectly in the mood for every episode and gives off vibes unlike anything else I'm really watching this season: And on the complete opposite end of the spectrum we've got the goofy, random upbeat bubbliness of Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon's op: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyGBqeSUDPw God I love those dragons dancing/wiggling. If I had a 3rd place it'd go to KonoSuba Season 2's op: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRkHCaLK6x0 Some great dancing here too, and those facial expressions! Get 'em before youtube inevitably takes 'em down! Not as sure on the best endings for this season. None seem to really stick out in my mind atm...

I was right to be concerned about Yakumo in the preview for this week's episode. From that hint of him not eating I figured something was gonna happen. I don't think he's dead, but with the purple backdrop(my favorite color btw) and eerie incense created specter of Miyokichi, that was quite the unsettling performance either way. Shoulda aired around Halloween. No surprise he saw Miyokichi in Konatsu. And that Sukeroku cliffhanger certainly leaves his fate ambiguous. Doesn't help that he wasn't in the preview at all either. I feel like that room with the candles was referencing something, besides hell or whathaveyou, but I'm not sure. I vaguely recall a story from season one involving death and candles, but again I'm not sure. Maybe it tied into this week's story. Otherwise such a pleasant episode too, with Yotaro Konatsu and Shin being adorable together. Plus his finished tattoo!

I'm now reading around certain forums that that March 25th episode is just a recap and promotion with Season 2 actually starting on April 1. Take with a grain of salt for now though.

I can understand why you consider it unfair, but I can't agree. Well, I suppose I do to a point. I don't even acknowledge things with hundreds of episodes(or sequels to things with hundreds of episodes) in seasonal rankings. If I did, Dragon Ball Super would absolutely be the best series for me every season it airs just for being Dragon Ball related. It's the rules for Buu! So something like Gintama is absolutely disqualified from seasonal rankings in my eyes. Ditto Detective Conan and One Piece. Something like Rakugo though? That's only in its second, and last, 12 episode season? Yeah, that's fair game. I suppose it's a bit unfair to pick and choose like that, but eh, my rankings. Also, I absolutely refuse to skip any Gintama so long as I can help it. I saw they added the dub. A rather asinine decision to start it 200+ episodes in imo, but I'm sure they have their reasons. Seems you and Eye both agree on splitting sequels up from originals for seasonal rankings. Fair enough. I'll pass on ACCA, for now at least. I did watch Chain Chronicle's first episode on Monday night and though it saddens me to admit it I can see why Eye so easily dismissed it. Don't plan on dropping it as it isn't THAT bad, but I feel absolutely no desire to watch episode 2 which...isn't good. Perpetual on-hold list will probably be getting bigger soon. Honestly I'm still planning on catching up on Conan this year when not watching my seasonal shows despite how insanely difficult it's proving to be due to its episodic, case by case nature. If only it had 100 episode arcs like One Piece instead of 50 2 episode arcs! 310+ episodes and 7 movies to go! I WILL CATCH UP!...............................someday. After that...maybe Gintama? Got nearly 280ish episodes and a movie or 2 of that to catch up on. Hell it may be easier to rotate them after getting Conan down a bit closer I dunno, we'll see...I assume. And speaking of... Rakugo is why I allowed for second. They're pretty much neck and neck with a finish line 8 weeks out...or so. Will one stumble? I dunno, also don't watch ACCA.

Okay, anyone who says this isn't the best or second best anime of the season is a damn liar! I read the source material and I'm still blown away every week!
