Methadone is good for people like me, long term IV drug users that played revolving door with detox and rehab.
If you're interested in stopping the grind of finding money for drugs it's a good option but you gotta lone wolf it up in there cuz the majority of the people still use drugs.
Coke, Xanax and they even waste money by using opiates on top of the methadone, which stopped making sense to me quickly because 1. A lot of opiates can't break through the methadone and 2. If they do it's for a very short amount of time.
My body is completely saturated with the shit, I can go a day or even two if I had to without my drink and I'm only on 30mg, I was on 180mg at one time.
It's a long journey, they don't call it "liquid handcuffs" for nothing but it's a good option if you're tired of using but don't want to detox or rehab anymore but when asked, I always recommend trying to go the drug free route first. In short methadone isn't the greatest first option for stopping opioid abuse and dependence. That's just my humble opinion.
