OK I called she said she was wrapping some things up right now and will be "sending some things out" to me within about an hour. My god if I don't get an offer at this point I'm going to be so pissed getting strung along is way worse than just getting ghosted. -

I mean it's based on an actual scientific scale but u have to pay like $50 to access the real one like it's mainly for other researchers to use. -

Why would I want to work at Kroger the closest one is like 2 hours away. Legit though I think the only thing keeping me from moving home is I have too much stuff and not enough space in my old bedroom. Like I joke with my parents about them finishing the basement so I can live there and go back to school and work some random part-time job. But if they were to actually finish the basement and set it up like a little apartment I probably actually would move back in. I just need my own space beyond a single bedroom. -
I was watching a SciShow video where they talked about this scale that some researchers had made to test people's level of burnout. The actual scale is only available if you pay for it but I found a free version based on that scale. https://www.mindtools.com/pages/article/newTCS_08.htm I scored a 58. The highest you can get is 75. My score means that "You are at severe risk of burnout – do something about this urgently." I really need a new job. I wonder if the place that e-mailed me last week saying they would "contact me early next week" about the position is still gonna call or if they're just gonna ghost me. Wonder if I should call them. I also retook the test imagining I was still at my last job, like around November or December before I got fired. Scored a 53.

I work second shift now and hate it. I'd hate having to go in first thing in the morning after working second shift even more. -
In b4 nothing happens

I still really don't understand this whole situation. Like what's the big deal with sending a "nasty e-mail". In a normal industry I can't imagine they'd even fire the sender (unless you're talking "death threats" level of nasty, this is a repeat behavior, or they were looking for an excuse to fire them), and I can't imagine they'd do anything to some person that didn't even have anything to do with it. I can imagine they'd reprimand the sender somehow but I don't see why they'd ever do anything to the person that had nothing to do with it. I'm genuinely asking help me understand why this is such a big deal beyond "Hurr durr industry permanent record." Like seriously is Regina George your boss or something? Is there a Burn Book in this "industry" of yours? If so why the fuck would you want to be a part of that shit.

Indeed I love when companies reject me for "someone with more experience" and then re-post the same job. -
To ask if I was still interested in the position. It wasn't the place that e-mailed me last week that I've been waiting to hear back from, though. I was surprised this place called me back because I thought I bombed the interview pretty badly. I also don't think I want to work there because I'd have to be on-call a lot including on my off days and when I'm on call I may have to drive over an hour to go respond to the call. Also I might have to do a 4 to midnight followed by a 5 am shift. So I don't think I want that shit. Hopefully the place I'm waiting on calls me tomorrow they said "early next week"...

Is this industry run by a bunch of teenage girls because that's the only way I can think of that they could be so petty about dumb shit like this.

Who told you that?

Automated phone and video interviews are the worse
Swimmod_Luna replied to Swimmod_Luna's topic in Free-For-All
They had some of the standard interview questions (do you have a Bachelor's degree, are you eligible to work in the US, etc.) where you just clicked yes or no. For god only knows what reason, they made "Have you ever been convicted of a felony, if so explain", a video question. So I hit record, said simply "No" (because do I really need to be formal on that one?) and then realized the questions had like a 10 second minimum length, so the video is just me trying to click stop over and over. -

The automated phone one is an Indeed thing, I think. I had like 3 places do it and they were all places I applied to on Indeed and all had the same four questions. The video one was for a major local medical center. They probably get enough applicants that they don't really care. -

They were open ended questions like you'd ask in any other interview. But it just feels weird giving my answer to no one and not being able to see their reaction or answer follow up questions. -

How so? -
I thought phone interviews where you actually talk to a person were bad enough. But then I had a few places where I did an automated phone interview for where it asks the questions and you answer and hit a button when you're done, and just did an automated video interview for another place.

Dude it's really not the end of the world. I'm pretty sure that "being a complainer" wouldn't be a good enough reason for them to deny you unemployment but I really don't think it will come to that. And why the fuck wouldn't you stand up for yourself and say you had nothing to do with it. It sounds like this person threw you under the bus why not do the same.
-
What. Getting fired isn't the end of the world lol. I doubt you're even going to get in trouble for this shit much less fired. And if you do, do you really want to work for a company that's so petty. You worry too much.
-
Maybe you'll actually get fired for real this time and I'll finally get an offer for a new job.
