Nice to see that Miami, once again, doesn't play a NFC North team on the road in December. /s

The run from the main to the house is usually buried below the freeze line. If your worried, you might check what that is for your area, then see if the city your in puts the pipes below that. If they're lower, then the feed to the house & the water heater should be fine.

I'm having a great day! I just learned that if you spell my surname in Cyrillic with an X (Kh - like in Khristos) instead of a Г (H) as the first letter, it means "BADASS" in another language. 😆

Yeah, let's go with that... on a serious note - do not heat those pipes, let them warm up slowly, or you risk cracking it.

I went out to clear the sidewalk and refill the bird feeders and found a dead bird at the front door. The cold was just too brutal for the poor thing.

I know it's supposed to be a joke, but it ain't...

We were supposed to have a high of 3F, but the most we got was -3F. Wind Chill started at -37F, we're at -29F now. It took from 6 am to 2:30 pm for the furnace to bring the temp in the house up 5 degrees. I had forgotten to partially shut the vents upstairs and open them fully in the basement.
