Last night disco wanted to go for a walk around the property. It was already dark so I grabbed a flashlight. We got back inside and I sat down and heard a buzzing sound by my ear. I jumped up but couldn't find the damn Lovecraftian insect. I started smelling a citrus smell. I ripped my shirt off and there it was. What we call a pecan bug. And the damn things fly too. I had to change my shirt, and almost had to change my pants too.

What would you change if you were in charge of the Olympics?

Cancel them. I went to a baseball game during the 96 Olympics. Haven't watched anything from them since. Watched the U.S. beat Nicaragua 1-0. -
Hell yes!
-
Haha. Now that's funny.

We had an LG and then went to a 4K LG, but it didn't have High Dynamic Range, which made the 4K useless. Mind you, I got it when they first came out pretty much and had no idea about HDR. I gave it to my mom, and that's when I bought the Samsung. I gave our son our other LG and he got pissed at a game and slung his remote through the screen, which is why he has some knock off brand TV now. But I decided to add a second TV in our bedroom, which I decided on another Samsung. I love them. Especially the first one we got, since the remote doesn't have to even be in the same room to work the TV. (No more pointing the remote at the TV).

Samsung wins.

DVT. Go get it amputated immediately.

Fortunately, we had an antenna rotor. The antenna is actually still on the house. The rotor is put away. Antique at this point.

That's why his TV is a console TV from the 60's, built in Pittsburgh. Probably haunted too.
-
I do not remember those. Before my time I suppose. Looks like loads of fun though.
-
That was the first one I had. Had to screw those prongs down to the back of the TV which was always fun. And trying to get the antenna wire screwed in was also a blast.

who were the last five people to perv your profile

I've never really thought about it either, which is why I even made the thread. I rarely go to my profile, and I never go to anyone else's. -
Is it bigger than 4 inches?
-
This thing was fun back in the day. Damn input/output switch.
-
Same with cars. Disco just bought a new Buick and my head hits the roof in it. But my truck is high off the ground and I don't hit my head in it.

Who still uses the numbers on their remotes? I haven't had to use a number on a remote in over ten years. It's not like back in the day when you only had local channels and had to punch in the channel number. Unless that's how cable works. I've never had cable because I've always lived in the swamp. We only had Dish and that wasn't available until I was an adult.
-
That's not being an asshole. Buying a TV is like buying a car. You have to pick the right one for you. When I'm in the market for a new one, I spend a lot of time comparing them. Not by price, but by features.
-
I've never seen this before.
-
Sometimes I miss the days where slapping a TV would fix it.
-
I'm not a fan of the feature that will turn on everything hooked up to your TV when you turn it on. I had to turn that off. I didn't need the game system and Blu-ray player to turn on when I turned on my TV. But even with that feature turned off, all I have to do is turn on my Xbox and it'll take me to my Xbox, from whatever screen I'm currently on. No more switching inputs on the remote.
-
I don't know if they still make them or not, but never buy a TV with a built in Blu-ray/DVD player in it.
-
PS4 Pro only ''upscales.'' Which is a gimmick. Xbox One X plays in true 4K.
-
Packard is gonna be jackin it hard to this.
-
That hookup box is a major selling point on its own. Nothing is more aggravating than having to unplug something so you can plug something else in. Our TV's have 3 ports, but that's all we need. Luckily. Sound bar and Xbox on one. PlayStation and Blu-ray player on the other one.
-
I have an Xbox One S and an Xbox One X. I can see some minor detail changes, but not enough to go out and upgrade the console like I did. Also,, upscaling is the biggest gimmick. There's really no such thing as upscaling. If you are watching something, say a DVD that was filmed in 720p, you can't upscale that shit to make it 4K. It's just not there. The pixels aren't there. I try to tell people that who are in the market for upgrading. If you want 4K, you have to have a 4K TV and a true 4K Blu-ray player. Not an upscaler.
