Phillip Rivers retired gosh darn it! Hall of very good. Another nice Rotoworld write up from kind of a fantasy side, but wish their was more of a human element. Philip Rivers announced his retirement after 17 NFL seasons. Colts general manager had said Rivers would make a decision about his retirement next month, but Rivers, 39, only needed two weeks to say he would leave the game after 16 years with the Chargers and one season with Indianapolis. Rivers, who will become the head coach at St. Michael Catholic High School in Alabama, threw for at least 30 touchdowns six times in his career, topping 4,500 passing yards in five seasons. Incredibly, he didn't miss a game since taking over as the Chargers' starting QB in 2006. Rivers and the Chargers had a run of excellent regular seasons with LaDainian Tomlinson as the team's offensive centerpiece, only to falter in the postseason, sometimes in heart wrenching fashion. In his only season with the Colts, Rivers led the team to the playoffs before losing to the Bills in the Wild Card round. Rivers' oddball sidearm delivery will go down as one of the quirkiest and most effective throwing motions in league history. The Colts will bring in new quarterbacks via the NFL draft or free agency -- perhaps both. QB Jacoby Brissett is an unrestricted free agent. -

As just an avid stats geek of the NFL, i was looking thru old stats of Chicago Bears Qb's, and saw Jim Miller. Remember that decent year he had in the early 2000's, a very young me thought he could have been an era.

Matt fucking Schaub calls it a career. I had to copy and paste this beauty of a write up by Rotoworld. Falcons No. 2 QB Matt Schaub is retiring after 17 seasons in the league. It ends up a long strange trip for the 39-year-old, one that began in 2004 as Michael Vick's backup in Atlanta. Schaub showed well in occasional mop-up duty and was acquired by Gary Kubiak's Texans for a pair of second-round picks in 2007. Schaub ended up making two Pro Bowls and leading the league in yardage in 2009, helping to usher in this era's hyper efficiency. Although his final years in Houston (2012-13) were an interception-marred mess, Schaub went on to carve out a second career as a backup for the Raiders, Ravens and Falcons. He spent the past four years holding Matt Ryan's clipboard. Although not even close to a Hall-of-Famer, Schaub belongs in the "hall of very good." -

It's really too bad. Right when I thought he got over his injury bug habit over the last 4 years, he gets hit with a season ending suspension. Hes such a classic big play threat. As you also mentioned, he is to become a free agent. Poor Deshaun Watson if he loses yet another weapon. It's like the Texans are trying to make his ceiling that of their best QB to date, the immortal Matt Schaub. -

In a brutal schedule start to this year, yes they did start 0-4. I guess my whole point was before Deshaun, his teams seemed to over perform. -

Fair, that it crazy. BoB was a terrible general manager. Making the trades he has, he still seemed to be at times, a good in-game coach. He finished with a passable 52-48 record as the Houston coach. Though once Deshaun Watson became big daddy at QB, he did not meet the expectations for sure.
