well...aap is advanced academic program. it's basically as gunstarhero described in the primary education system. my daughter was allowed to get books above her grade because she scored high in testing. and she excelled in math in science.

marines! i have told all my kids 'i really don't want you to join the military, but IF you feel the need, try airforce first, because it's super lax (inb4 clu) and better opportunities for women. now, i also told them that if they wanted to join the marines, to get in the w.o program, not officer, but warrant officer. more respect from enlisted, with the same props as officer. and that way get college paid for, AND don't have to commit to any length of time in service. i was pegged up by my gysgt to go the this route, but the sgtmaj of my unit hated women in service...and veto'd that quick.

i think it's awful that parents hold their childs funding/tuition/assistance hostage over things like sexuality. my oldest daughter has been taking her time with college. she's complete her b.s. and she moved to new york, to attend cornell for a couple semesters. unfortunately, she had to move back because her baby daddy wasn't going to comply with the aggreement they originally had when she went out there, and let her daugher move out there with her. so she's back in az, finishing up her classes tl:dr~she took the slow pace, got a little more added (life/babies) but she's sticking to it, on her terms. i believe she is now working on her masters(?)
