Smiling Friends S1E1-3 How did I not catch on to the fact that there's an orchestral swell that plays whenever the episode's featured character finally smiles? Always fun to watch a few episodes of a show at a time and catch all those nuances.

The people voting on Best Animated Feature at the Oscars were like that for years: not even bothering. A whole damn decade ago, The Wind Rises got snubbed for the award in favor of moar Disney, and there was a big furor over it. I even remember someone saying that they threw the screener DVDs in the trash, though I think that was for Best Animated Short. Thank Icculus they're apparently now forcing people to watch 'em.

Uh... okay? And here I thought the big story was Solo Leveling winning a bunch of awards.

You know, I was wondering if Hadel and Cusack were going to riff on this, or if they thought such recognition was beneath them. Nice to see the latter got a kick out of it. Anyway, I feel like people are taking this too seriously, assuming they are. Who knows what the intent behind this was, but I don't think it was meant to be negative.

Pretty much. Regardless of the financial reasons, Bleach just belongs on Toonami, or at least [as]. I won't be watching, but I might be if I didn't have BE and Lazarus (and Fate/UBW?) to supremely catch up on. [yippee, 3000th post!]

Well, you could complain that Bleach is coming too late in the game for it to be able to draw a crowd, but I ain't. And how cool is it when Toonami does the exact thing we expect from them? Now I have an actual reason to watch my DVR recordings of Blue Exorcist S1. [though... i should do some other shows first]

Personally, these negative comments towards the Lazarus dub are making me want to watch the sub instead, and that's not the kind of thing Toonami needs right now. Guess I'm waiting for the late-night rerun, given that I don't want to pay for Max right now.

I'm not sure if it actually counts since the monster of the week wasn't tied to the chair (unless there were invisible chains or something), but yeah: In this show, you're forced to listen to the heroines' songs, and by golly you're gonna like them.
