I have been messing around with some various things such as way back machine and some related techniques. Just needed some dates so I can get the most that I can possibly grab. I'm not going to do this if it already exists readily available to everyone, so I pmed KN about it. If I hear anything more about it then I will probably post some links as soon as I can get it sorted.

Man, you are on top of things. You need to do a community newsletter.

That behavior is deplorable and I wouldn't begrudge people for telling him to fuck off or showing how he is wrong or whatever, but if you are calling for moderator action you need to site specific abuse of others and violation of board rules. Otherwise we get the tons of people whining about Zeni and Fuggs and Viper, ect... starting up all over the place claiming they shouldn't be here without actually reporting or showing anything that would constitute such an action. And honestly I agree with you, they are just feeding the people they apparently can't stand.

Yeah see, saying "got something for the looters" is not a threat. It's a statement showing he has a defensive fire arm. I don't see anything wrong with that. Posting history aside, if someone wants to make a case for someone to be banned they need to report them, the specific posts where they are making threats. I have only reported a few threads, which were all shout out threads aimed at specific users with malicious harassment in them. I can totally agree to specific actions being bannable but those people claiming this need to report said posts and/or notify someone with a specific case for it. This is as simple as quoting the person in a pm or linking their specific post to a mod. I don't understand why people think it's ok to just go around claiming shit about people here and to ask for them to be banned with no actual evidence of wrong doing (by that I mean violating the board rules)

Posted reasons for what? I want to know what the specific threat made was, can you quote it for me? I mean if you show me a legitimate threat that he actually made to someone or even in general then I will be on board with banning him. I'm not in favor of letting people get away with violent threats. However this is a good example of something that is very specific for moderation and as such needs to be specifically evidenced when, what, why, how.

1pooh4u[/member] I agree with you. I hope the post modification thing got fixed in DF. That was not a good thing to just have laying around. Other than that I don't think DF should be moderated beyond any of the afforementioned threats of violence. I mean it specifically says that people posting there are free game because it is the trash bin. Also back to my whole point of categorizing whole non-specific types of behavior as moderation action imperatives, you list a prime example of this with my threads being sent to DF even though as far as I am aware I followed the board rules for posting illicit materials (not to mention giving a huge big read font warning at the top of the thread indicating NSFW). This was still never explained to me, not that I really care at this point, but it does illustrate my point about the need to have very specific rules about what will be moderated instead of just saying generic things like "posting harmful or offensive stuff is bad". While this is a true statement, I don't think it is a well-defined rule for moderation purposes and tends to bring up a whole host of issues which will ultimately devolve into people getting butthurt over being banned for non-specific reasons and accuse people of abuse of power. Having things clearly defined to a degree which no one that is capable of posting on the internet could mistake the meaning of, will simply stop this from being an issue, because anyone that violates those specific things will then not have a leg to stand on in terms of crying about it.

I'm not sure why people are freaking out over him posting a picture of a legally owned firearm. I don't remember him making a threat against anyone here or anyone else in particular. If he said something else aimed at someone specifically please post it, because I keep seeing people getting in a tizzy over this. Saying you are going to defend yourself against looters is hardly a threat of violence against someone else. I'm not a fan of the guy personally, but this type of categorization of behavior is exactly what I was talking about in my posts to rogue. This is not the specific and non-descript type of bad behavior that should be moderated at all.
