2024 Presidential Elections: the schadenfreude commences
Icarus27k replied to NewBluntsworth's topic in Current Events
I never understood the criticism of Biden being old. He just acts like a usual 80-year-old man. Like, have you ever met one? He's pretty much Biden. -
...tried to impeach a Cabinet official by scheduling the vote when a lawmaker would be absent because they were in the hospital. The lawmaker unexpectedly showed up to vote anyway, dashing his plans. And Johnson is just like, "yeah, it's true. I tried to do that".

This part about Russia is arguably the weirdest. It's an entire country behaving like an obsessed ex-boyfriend/girlfriend.

Last night, I talked to a Danish friend of mine and was surprised to know he knew about both Homeward Bound movies in detail. -

Why would Republicans do the bidding of a loser who is going to be incarcerated a year from now (Trump)? Why would you be scared of him or degrade yourself for him? Just amazing undignified ignorance. -

2024 Presidential Elections: the schadenfreude commences

I've read articles about how Trump suspects he is going to prison. That adds a different light to 2024. He's not even expecting to win the election in November and thus save himself. Instead he is burning down as much of the country as possible before he gets taken away. -

I just thought again about this woman in the post right above. "Oopsey! I accidentally committed treason" is quite a way to be remembered. -

Because the commercials often get released online before the actual game now. I found this one amusing....

Scoop: State Department reviewing options for possible recognition of Palestinian state Secretary of State Tony Blinken asked the State Department to conduct a review and present policy options on possible U.S. and international recognition of a Palestinian state after the war in Gaza, two U.S. officials briefed on the issue told Axios. Why it matters: While U.S. officials say there has been no policy change, the fact the State Department is even considering such options signals a shift in thinking within the Biden administration on possible Palestinian statehood recognition, which is highly sensitive both internationally and domestically. For decades, U.S. policy has been to oppose the recognition of Palestine as a state both bilaterally and in UN institutions and to stress Palestinian statehood should only be achieved through direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. https://www.axios.com/2024/01/31/palestine-statehood-biden-israel-gaza-war

An attempt to appease the US before it attacks them.

For a brief moment I thought we were going to acknowledge 3 U.S. soldiers were killed by hostile fire today, that we don't know the full story about what happened and that we wouldn't say crazy crap immediately after hearing about it.
