I just finished up episodes 40-44 of My Hero Academia and holy shit....so good.

If anything I walked away feeling like the people involved really didn't understand the underlying material and spirit of the series. Instead of a lame attempt at an origin story they could have created a case for the team to crack that is relevant and relatable to the audience. Yes. GiTS is ultimately a very existential show, but it's more of the backdrop for stories about advancing technology and how human beings are interacting with and living along side it. This is what we get with Hollywood today unfortunately and I'm more and more inclined to see my favorites left alone. I don't think they're heart is in the right place and the box office revenue is always the main driver.

Yeah leaving the entire team out of the plot was lame as hell. I felt very little character development and even the major's stuff was hollow as hell. And agree on Batou. Great fit.

Seriously dude you did it right. So regret not going. I'm watching it again now actually and I'm blown away. I will say the plot was definitely flawed and generic as hell.
