What Youtube video are you watching?

Watched the Star Trek Discovery spinoff movie Section 31. I'm surprised they didn't make this into a series and went the movie route. Looks like originally they had planned it as a series, but decided to change it up at some point. Anyway, fun cast of characters, great action. Michelle Yeoh is still a total badass. Hope they bring her character Georgiou back once again in some way or another.

The tweet DHS sent out claims they arrested him for assaulting law enforcement. I mean seriously, WTF! He was simply standing there, and they come pushing people aside and go grab him. It's not just that they think the law doesn't matter anymore... apparently they don't think reality matters anymore either, even when it's all caught on camera for people to plainly see.

One Piece Episode 733 Discussion

Yeah, I'll say. That'd be just way too convenient. I don't even want to think about how that could even work. That just feels like way too much for any devil fruit power. Sounds more like just pure magic really. -

Given no one had any place else left to be, where all that debris is falling is where everyone should have to be really. But of course, somehow everyone will be fine or come away with just a little dust on them and maybe a couple scratches here or there. LOL -

https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2025-06-12/forget-inflation-the-gops-policies-on-student-loans-will-crack-the-economy Now things look worse. There’s no longer any talk in Congress of student loan relief. It’s been supplanted by partisan efforts to increase the burden, by raising the costs of student loans and closing off paths for struggling borrowers to manage their payments. The damage wreaked by Trump policies on student loans is already showing up in economic statistics. According to a report by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, about 9.7 million student loan borrowers have seen their credit scores plummet since late last year, when delinquencies and defaults on those loans began to be listed on credit reports. The threat to the economy is real and immediate. Households burdened with student debt tend to delay or forgo homeownership and face difficulties in starting a family or building up savings. Eradicating student debt, or even materially reducing its burden, would produce a significant economic stimulus. But who in the White House or on Capitol Hill is even listening?" Just another part of the war on higher education that's gonna rebound and bite them in the ass before long probably.

Israel: Another look at certain events in the news.
Dark_Cloud_Overhead replied to discolé monade's topic in Current Events
Israel struck Iran, and looks like it's just the beginning of a massive campaign to go after their nuclear program. Iran no doubt will retaliate. Looks like we're on the cusp of a major war breaking out over there now. So much for negotiations. https://www.axios.com/2025/06/13/israel-strike-iran-trump-nuclear-talks -
I expected it to be renewed, since they were kind of tooting their horn about how it was being received early on ratings-wise, but two more seasons? What are they gonna do if season two totally flops? Guess they must feel pretty confident that won't happen. I just wonder what kind of villain they're gonna be able to come up with that can top Yamaji. Zai's still out there I guess, but feels like he would be a more likely ally going forward than enemy. Maybe some other rival Ninja clan from the past that was thought to have been annihilated? Or they could always do aliens, or demons or something like that I guess. Although, stuff like that would be changing it into like an entirely different show, so probably, hopefully, not anything like that. Guess we'lll see.

They're really getting carried away now. First they arrest a democratic mayor (without filing any charges against him later on), a congresswoman (who they did file charges against), and now they treat a senator like this. Oh and then there's saying governor Newsom should be arrested for the crime of *gasp* being elected. This is just plain pathetic. The house speaker of course treating Padilla, the victim here, like he was somehow at fault saying he should maybe be censured. Sigh. And Noem is just flat out lying saying he didn't identify himself, when there's tape showing he very clearly did. There's just no bottom they won't sink to.

Castle Rock Season 1 was kind of slow developing, but I liked the dichotomy of the science vs the supernatural it had going on and thought it was a pretty interesting idea they had to explain all the weird stuff that was happening. Unfortunately, season 2 just shat all over that. Felt really unnecessary, too, cuz they could have easily just made it a completely separate story and not tried to tie the two together at all... but they did, and it made no sense, as they just seemed to totally abandon the stuff that season one had established and made it into a total supernatural thing.
