I'm confused. I've been playing FFXII: The Zodiac Age and I just bought The Division and Nier: Automata.

Of course I don't find that an issue. That information coming up in normal conversation or by a random phone call is one thing, but I don't need a disclaimer that lets me know they're gay because it isn't relevant to me. I'm never going to look for a good gay LPer; just a good LPer, gay or otherwise.

I mean, I get that, but can't the fact that they enjoy games be the thing that makes them feel included? I know there are some homophobic assholes in the gaming community, but I find it hard to believe that it's an even remotely large percentage of them. People just don't care about sexual preferences like they used to. Being gay isn't considered taboo by most people these days. And not to be insensitive or anything, but if they never bring up the fact that they're gay then most people would probably never even notice in the first place. That's just my perspective from the outside looking in. It's not coming from a position of hate because I honestly have no ill will towards gay people or trans people or anything, despite the fact that I seem to disagree with them on a lot of things.

Well statistically being straight is the norm. Doesn't make straight people better than gay people, but words have to mean something.

How will I know they're straight though if they don't constantly shove that fact down my throat?

Why do they have to not only point out their sexual orientations, but also put it right in the name of the channel? Shouldn't that be irrelevant to the point of the videos, which is the games?

Hipster douchebag was working. One of those people you can tell is a pretentious asshole just by looking at them, complete with obviously fake politeness that just comes off as condescending. Obviously tried to sell me a bunch of garbage including warranties on my purchases and a renewal to my power up rewards card which I let expire years ago because I rarely shop there anymore. I say no to all that bullshit. He hands me my receipt and says, "At the bottom is a survey where you can tell them how I TRIED to save you money". ( Yes, he stressed the "I tried" part. ) Roll my eyes and walk out the door laughing. The fact that the higher ups still force their employees to peddle this shit is beyond me. They have to know this stuff is nothing but a turn off to the customers. Especially when the clerk is an ass.

Looking back on it, you're right. Man it's been so long since I played V. I need to fix that. But anyway, you could still switch jobs and secondary classes at any time, which allowed for experimentation without having to restart the entire game. And in X-2 and Lightning Returns (great game actually, if you're like me and like customizing classes in clever ways) you were constantly changing jobs mid-battle. Those things alone make them much more flexible.

I disagree. There's some room for experimentation, but like I said you more or less have to start the game over if you want to try any more than 6 builds. Even FFV was way more flexible than this.

I wouldn't even call this a job system. If you leveled up specific jobs to unlock others, that would be a "system", just like every other FF that used the job system. With this you're just picking a role for each character to portray. Want to try different builds? Start the game over. There's no other way. People complain about the original making every character feel the same, but that was completely the player's fault. Set rules for your characters like I always did and they'll feel nothing alike. Is it a shame that the game didn't set those rules for you? Sure. That doesn't mean that it can't be done with a little discipline.
