  1. We can only wonder. Maybe it was simply seared and still partly raw? BTW, no need for spoiler tags yet.
  2. You mean "SA"? No, I think it was DVD, but I'm not sure. I watched it on an XBone. Back on topic...
  3. Episode 2: "First Blood" OP: "Into The Sky" by Tielle ED: "Next 2U -eUC-" by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:naNami Tune in tomorrow (1/14/17) at 1 AM for more beam sabers!! And so much action it just might melt your face off!! Only Toonami!!
  4. Nothing says Friday the 13th like a pair of ravenous vampires in two back-to-back episodes of JoJo! And of course all the other stuff that made the 12/17/16 edition of Toonami great, finally streaming tonight: 1. Dragonball Z Kai #98 - Peace for the Future! The Spirit of Goku is Forever! - TV-PGLV 2. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure #9 - The Final Ripple! - TV-MAV (broadcast), TV-MA (personal) 3. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure #10 - New York's JoJo - TV-MAV (broadcast), TV-14LV (personal) 4. Hunter x Hunter #32 - A Surprising Win - TV-14V 5. Naruto Shippuden #139 - The Mystery of Tobi - TV-PGLV 6. One Piece #373 - The End of the Battle is Nigh! Pound in the Finishing Move - TV-PGLV 7. One Punch Man #8 - The Deep Sea King - TV-14LV Go to www.adultswim.com/videos/streams/toonami and enjoy!!
  5. Oh look, for the time being my post count is exactly the same as Gundam Unicorn Episode 1's Total Viewers rating in thousands. I really hope I have to post A LOT to say something like this next Tuesday!
  6. Gotta hand it to ya, Moose, that would have been pretty cool!
  7. To be fair, on a per-month basis, this is a LOT cheaper than even basic cable, and in certain markets you don't even get Adult Swim without a family package upgrade, though there are work-arounds because apparently linear Adult Swim is available on Sling TV. Looked at that way Toonami (and the rest of Adult Swim and whatever else Sling offers) costs about $20 a month. This Prime + Strike crap is $13.24. I'm not saying this in its defense though, not when FUNimation is able to offer access to like 15 so-called Simuldubs that are speedier than anything shown on Toonami and its extensive library of dubbed anime for a ludicrously low $5.99 a month. So it fails to match up to the competition even on the most basic level. This news is pretty much a harmless wet fart except that there might be one actual bolt of lightning: the chances of Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga (Season 2) airing a dub on Toonami probably just plummeted. Prior to this, I would have picked it for a temporary replacement for Hunter x Hunter (assuming it might need time for a dub hiatus) at 1:30 AM beginning after Episode 58. Now? Not so much!
  8. Ironically, you failed to mention JoJo...
  9. Just noticed something: One-Punch Man and Gundam IBO both had a "Hammerhead" in them around the same time last year!
  10. Episode 1 is on right now for its last time. It even played the full version of "The Hero!" Watch as Saitama punches his way through his opposition with ease! (Punch count: 9)
  11. I suppose they could always drop Gundam Unicorn to 1:30 AM and move up Hun... oh what's that? That won't work? Then we'll move up Ship... uh what's that you say? That won't work either? Well I better not even suggest One Piece. So I guess that means they should move up One-Punch Man to 1 AM! That would do well... Oh wait, it's only got 3 episodes left, so that won't work either! Never mind. Actually, maybe best-case scenario they quickly add a hot new show at 1 AM to stop the "bleeding" and bump everything back 30 minutes? What would you suggest?
  12. It did in Adults 18-49: 11:30 PM Dragon Ball Super 835,000 (88.81%) 0.651 12:00 AM DBZ Kai: The Final Chapters 641,000 (76.77%) 0.515 12:30 AM JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 563,000 (87.83%) 0.439 1:00 AM Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn 453,000 (80.46%) 0.353 1:30 AM Hunter × Hunter 389,000 (85.87%) 0.303 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden 393,000 (101.03%) 0.306 2:30 AM One Piece 328,000 (83.46%) 0.255 (?) 3:00 AM One-Punch Man (encore) 349,000 (106.40%) 0.272 ADULTS 18-49 AVERAGE - 493,875 Dragon Ball Super started out as good as Attack on Titan's best night, and that's a technical encore of a premiere from only 3.5 hours before! True, retention wasn't as good as that night, and most of these numbers are actually low from there by 2016 standards. The real losers are toward the end of the night: Gundam Unicorn was low for that timeslot's standards, and Hunter × Hunter just dropped below 400K for the first time EVER for a premiere episode. And of course Punchy jumped markedly as usual! Finally.... CURRENT SHOW AVERAGES Total Viewers Dragon Ball Super (8 PM) - 1,063,000 (1 episode) Dragon Ball Super (11:30 PM) - 1,369,000 (1 episode) Dragon Ball Z Kai: Final Chapters - 1,124,000 (1 episode) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - 992,364 (11 episodes) Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn - 747,000 (1 episode) Hunter × Hunter - 895,121 (33 episodes) Naruto: Shippuden - 886,274 (140 episodes) One Piece - 799,982 (167 episodes) One Punch Man Rerun - 635,444 (9 episodes) Adults 18-49 Dragon Ball Super (8 PM, Estimate) - 512,000 (1 episode) Dragon Ball Super (11:30 PM) - 835,000 (1 episode) Dragon Ball Z Kai: Final Chapters - 641,000 (1 episode) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - 602,455 (11 episodes) Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn - 453,000 (1 episode) Hunter × Hunter - 527,333 (33 episodes) Naruto: Shippuden - 489,648 (123 episodes) One Piece - 434,837 (123 episodes) One Punch Man Rerun - 635,444 (9 episodes) Adults 18-34 (Estimated) Dragon Ball Super (8 PM) - 306,000 (1 episode) Dragon Ball Z Kai: Final Chapters - 462,000 (1 episode) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - 401,636 (11 episodes) Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn - 319,000 (1 episode) Unicorn sticks out like a sore thumb right now but that is likely to change if it gets better! That's probably the worst start for a new series at 1 AM in quite a while though. I believe Casshern might have had a worse debut? Such a shame because it's an amazing series and deserves to do well! It DOES have 21 weeks to improve, though! One final note for the week: since PI is now providing ratings accurate to the thousandth digit, I can now calculate that 1.000 in Adults 18-49 is about 1282K!
  13. How quickly we forget that before 2015 this was fine, and believe it or not this point in 2015 sucked worse than this!
  14. Until SOTB/Programming Insider posts their "Saturday Final Nationals", this is probably the best I can do: 11:30 PM Dragon Ball Super 0.65 12:00 AM DBZ Kai: The Final Chapters 0.52 (80.00%) 12:30 AM JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 0.44 (84.62%) 1:00 AM Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn 0.35 (79.55%) 1:30 AM Hunter × Hunter 0.30 (85.71%) 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden 0.31 (103.33%) 2:30 AM One Piece 0.27 (87.10%) 3:00 AM One-Punch Man 0.28 (103.70%) ADULTS 18-49 AVERAGE - 0.39 - Estimated 495,000
  15. TOTAL VIEWERS RETENTION: 8:00 PM Dragon Ball Super 1,063,000 (73.72%) 8:30 PM American Dad 853,000 (80.24%) 11:30 PM Dragon Ball Super 1,369,000 (84.04%) 12:00 AM DBZ Kai: The Final Chapters 1,124,000 (82.10%) 12:30 AM JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 900,000 (80.07%) 1:00 AM Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn 747,000 (83.00%) 1:30 AM Hunter × Hunter 679,000 (90.90%) 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden 675,000 (99.41%) 2:30 AM One Piece 554,000 (82.07%) 3:00 AM One-Punch Man 581,000 (104.87%) TOTAL VIEWERS AVERAGE - 828,625 If you're wondering why I included American Dad, it's because it will be replaced next week by Samurai Jack, and I wanted to give that timeslot a "baseline". It's not action so I've included it in italics.
  16. Well, the TVByTheNumbers/Screener numbers have come in, and nothing below Gundam Unicorn (still listed as IBO for some ridiculous reason) made the Top 100: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/daily-ratings/saturday-cable-ratings-jan-7-2017/ Super disappointed slightly at 11:30 with 1369K, but at least it didn't lose much from Family Guy. It DID even make it to 0.7 18-49! Now what that means exactly, we're not sure. The drop between Super and Kai is baffling. On a day-to-day basis, it appears Toonami edged out Adult Swim Sundays, but 3 AM One-Punch Man of course misses the Top 100: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/daily-ratings/sunday-cable-ratings-jan-8-2017/
  17. No one else has updated yet, but Show Buzz Daily has put up a few more numbers for 1:30-3:30: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-1-7-2017.html#comment-168362 Hunter x Hunter: 0.30/679K Shippuden: 0.31/675K One Piece: 0.26/554K One-Punch Man: 0.27/581K It is also worth noting that somehow TWILIGHT BREAKING DAWN Part 1 managed to beat Super's premiere, and Part 2 managed to beat most of Toonami. An antiquated movie series from like 2012 that's been pretty much rerun to death beat a U.S. Premiere of new dubbed DragonBall. LET THAT SINK IN! That's pretty much what Toonami loses by not having anything for the ladies, and being essentially a "boys club". If Viz could somehow provide Sailor Moon Crystal and Sentai could provide Flip-Flappers, that might change things. But I'm not sure where the hell you would put them!
  18. That seems a little high, but I would love to see it! Unfortunately, that's not what happened. 1/7/2017 Dragon Ball Super (8 PM) - #10 Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.45 Estimated 18-34 - 306,000 ( 28.79% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.40 Estimated 18-49 - 508,000 ( 64.23% ) Total Viewers - 1,063,000 1/7/2017 DBZ Kai: Final Chapters - #6 Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.68 Estimated 18-34 - 462,000 ( 43.46% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.52 Estimated 18-49 - 660,000 ( 64.23% ) Total Viewers - 1,124,000 1/7/2017 JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - #8 Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.55 Estimated 18-34 - 374,000 ( 41.56% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.44 Estimated 18-49 - 559,000 ( 64.23% ) Total Viewers - 900,000 1/7/2017 Gundam Unicorn - #17 Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.47 Estimated 18-34 - 319,000 ( 42.70% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.35 Estimated 18-49 - 445,000 ( 64.23% ) Total Viewers - 747,000 You were spot-on with the 8 PM premiere though! Even so, I wonder how long it will take Adult Swim to replace the 8 PM premiere with an encore of the previous week's 11:30, since this IS proving detrimental to Toonami!
  19. Still haven't seen the dub of One-Punch Man? Well this week is your chance! Episodes 1-5 play through Wednesday at 6:30 PM, followed by 6-10 from Wednesday about 7:20 through Friday at 6:30 PM (Interspersed with Q&A Pre-Flight, of course). This will prepare you for 11 and 12 in the 3 AM "Farewell" rerun on Toonami!
  20. The 8 PM airing actually got a bump tonight before 12:30 Boondocks!
  21. Gundam IBO #25 "Tekkadan" is now streaming. McGillis' treachery has created Tekkadan as new heroes, but will they stand up to the one who helped them reach their status? Find out next season--maybe!!
  22. JoJo Episode 8 is now streaming. Where did Dio get those weird chimera companions? There were a cat-headed owl and a man - headed dog, the latter of which he pretty much kicked the life out of!
  23. *CRUNCH* But you better bet it will take more than that to stop Luffy!!
