Toonami Weekly Marathon Stream 2017 Archive & Updates
OwlChemist81 replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Attack on Titan Season 2, episodes #26-#30. No advancement. If you want to see the transformation of Bertholdt and Reiner again, you'll need to look elsewhere. Still no JoJo: Stardust Crusaders or Outlaw Star, but who the hell cares? The stream is a pale shadow of what it used to be on weekdays and has been for quite some time. They should change it up so that it at least shows a whole cour (11-14 episodes) like it used to. That would be a true "marathon!" -

This would be interesting. Perhaps it would be set in like 2031, when a college-age offspring of Misa Amane and the late Light Yagami, who died in 2013, just months before he/she was born, learns of his/her father's fight to catch Kira (but somehow not that he WAS Kira, as Misa is careful to keep this detail away from him/her), learns of a new Kira and joins forces with Near, who is now in his mid-20's, to take down the new "Z"-Kira, who announces that he will be the "Kira to end all Kiras," and will bring destruction to the world! Misa's offspring being female is most interesting, since it allows the chance for a romantic relationship to form between her and Near, and all the while, since Near is painfully aware of his new partner's bizarre origins, and the fact that her mother herself WAS a 2nd Kira at one point in time, it allows for an interesting dynamic to grow between them as she slowly learns the truth, while the Z-Kira wreaks an increasing amount of utter havoc on the future world. Pretty compelling, huh? -

As much as I like JoJo's, it IS kinda embarrassing that so few people are watching it at MIDNIGHT, Toonami's classic home for the best episodes! But by the same token, a Toonami block that begins at 11 PM is a dream come true, no matter what the ratings are. That said, why can't the 8-10 time frame ALSO be considered "Toonami"? It might not make much sense during Football season, but outside of that, an 8-10 PM time frame that is called some form of "Toonami" would be interesting, you gotta admit! And finally: ADULTS 18-49 RETENTION 8:00 PM Dragon Ball Super (NPOT, Estimated) 500,000 8:30 PM Dragon Ball Super (NPOT, Estimated) 654,000 (130.80%) 10:30 PM Family Guy (NPOT, Estimated) 808,000 11:00 PM Dragon Ball Super 588,000 (72.77%) 11:30 PM DBZ Kai: The Final Chapters 513,000 (87.24%) 12:00 AM JJBA: Stardust Crusaders 400,000 (77.97%) 12:30 AM Gundam IBO S2 331,000 (82.75%) 1:00 AM Hunter × Hunter 325,000 (98.19%) 1:30 AM Lupin The 3rd 270,000 (83.08%) 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden 278,000 (102.96%) 2:30 AM Outlaw Star HD 244,000 (87.77%) 3:00 AM Cowboy Bebop HD 222,000 (90.98%) 3:30 AM Attack on Titan Season 2 192,000 (86.49%) TOONAMI ADULTS 18-49 AVERAGE - 336,300 http://programminginsider.com/ratings/final-nationals/saturday-final-nationals-tbs-wins-prime-time-cubs-dodgers-nlcs/ CURRENT SHOW AVERAGES Total Viewers Dragon Ball Super (Prime Time Premieres) - 837,250 (36 episodes) Dragon Ball Super (Toonami) - 1,014,432 (37 episodes) Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters - 937,342 (38 episodes) JoJo's Bizarre Adv.: Stardust Crusaders - 654,818 (11 episodes) Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans - 560,500 (2 episodes) Hunter × Hunter - 754,257 (70 episodes) Lupin the 3rd - 495,313 (16 episodes) Naruto: Shippuden - 815,390 (178 episodes) Outlaw Star - 429,875 (8 episodes) Cowboy Bebop - 406,500 (6 episodes) Attack on Titan Season 2 Rerun - 340,364 (12 episodes) Adults 18-49 Dragon Ball Super (Prime Time Premieres) - 420,139 (36 episodes) Dragon Ball Super (Toonami) - 615,649 (37 episodes) Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters - 566,500 (38 episodes) JoJo's Bizarre Adv.: Stardust Crusaders - 404,000 (11 episodes) Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans - 360,500 (2 episodes) Hunter × Hunter - 450,943 (70 episodes) Lupin the 3rd - 294,063 (16 episodes) Naruto: Shippuden - 453,321 (161 episodes) Outlaw Star - 262,875 (8 episodes) Cowboy Bebop - 246,000 (6 episodes) Attack on Titan Season 2 Rerun - 239,182 (12 episodes) Adults 18-34 (Estimated) Dragon Ball Super (Prime Time Premieres) - 270,618 (34 episodes) Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters - 383,395 (38 episodes) JoJo's Bizarre Adv.: Stardust Crusaders - 276,600 (10 episodes) Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans - 248,000 (2 episodes) Lupin the 3rd - 201,929 (14 episodes) Longer-running shows later on have higher averages--that's evidence that this block has seen better days! -

That 8:30 PM Super is just KILLING it!! It did that well up against COLLEGE FOOTBALL!! The only way Adult Swim is messing with that is if they suddenly lose the 8 PM hour back to CN. Then I daresay Super premieres would continue at 9 PM. I don't want Toonami to lose the 11 PM hour but premieres at 9 PM may be safer. Are JoJo and Gundam REALLY that much worse content-wise than Rick & Morty? -

At any rate, it goes out with a whimper, a modest 0.15, rather than a bang. -

I think I figured out why this happened: The OG Teen Titans movie Trouble in Tokyo from 2006 on CN led-in to Adult Swim's Dragon Ball Super power hour. Now THAT'S smart scheduling! This Saturday it's replaced by the Lego Movie, but a projection for 10/28 has OG Teen Titans in that timeslot for an hour on CN before the DBS power hour on [as]. Who knew bringing back the OG could be so popular? -

No need to do that. Just move the midnight hour to 9 PM; it'll be fine, apparently. Or better yet, that hot new show Toonami needs to get? It could debut at 11:30 during Toonami and encore at 8 or 9, while DBZ Kai could premiere in the other timeslot and encore in Lupin's current timeslot, or something. -

The millions have returned, but NOT where we wanted them to be!! It's too early to tell, but it might have even won the night! -
Last half 2014 variety vs. Last half 2017 variety: Attack on Titan (11:30) -> Attack on Titan (12:30, 3 AM, 3:30) Bleach (12 AM); FMA:B (4 AM) -> Hunter x Hunter (1 AM, 1:30) DBZ Kai (12 AM) -> DBZ KFC (11:30, 12 AM) Space Dandy (11:30, 12:30) -> Dragon Ball Super (11 PM, 11:30) Naruto Shippuden (12:30, 1 AM) -> Naruto Shippuden (2, 2:30) One Piece (1 AM, 1:30); Black Lagoon (2:30, 3 AM) -> Lupin the 3rd (1:30, 2) Gurren Lagann (1:30 AM, 2) -> Gundam IBO (12:30); Outlaw Star (2:30) Hellsing Ultimate (12 AM, 2 AM, 3 AM) -> JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (12 AM); Tokyo Ghoul (12:30) Cowboy Bebop (3:30) -> Cowboy Bebop (3 AM) GITS 2nd Gig (4:30) -> GITS 2nd Gig (3:30) Samurai Jack (5:30) -> Samurai Jack (3:30, marathon) The only shows that really have no equivalent are Beware The Batman and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. And while there won't be any movies in 2017, there were movie reduxes in the first half at least (Dragon Ball Super remixed Battle of the Gods and Resurrection of F, while Gundam Unicorn Re:0096 was a remix of the OVAs).

The hell? It's airing AFTER Toonami, in an even more dead zone than the end of Toonami. Try harder. shithead Still, I must admit I am kinda bummed that we don't get back to a #6HourChallenge for one night only.

Damn right. The special of deleted scenes, which aired on TV, was much better! Oh, BTW, I never saw the movie in theaters.
