I wonder if that will actually happen. I thought it was quite bizarre that we got the same show in a row twice. Well, this is just so mind-boggling I don't have any words for it. I just witnessed the stream finish out Episode #37 of Gundam IBO, then cut to Pre-Flight. And earlier tonight, I saw the eyecatch of Episode #37 but no other information to determine that there was any other episode... ...JUST. THAT. EPISODE!!! What the hell is going on!? Either Toonami Stream is in an odd transition phase that will soon be resolved otherwise, or we're in a major downgrade here! Edit: turns out it's not just #37, but #36 as well. Even so, without the payoff in #38, kinda like not getting the climax! Edit #2: All weekend through today as I type this, the stream has been playing Pre-Flight, Gundam IBO Episode #36, then #37, then #36 again, then #37 again, then Pre-Flight. If you ask me, if they want to play Pre-Flight more, they should instead look at the randomly repeating the same episodes thing. If 5 is the desired length, then air Pre-Flight, then 5 episodes, then Pre-Flight again. I don't know if what happened this weekend was a glitch or not but it would be nice if someone competent were running this thing!

Of all the shows, all the episodes we could have had, looks like it's IBO #36-40 AGAIN for the weekend.

I don't see how it could be, but it IS annoying as hell that only 17 days out the March 24 schedule remains shrouded in mystery!

Dandy doesn't have the "staying power" Bebop does either. NOTHING does--except maybe Samurai Champloo and DBZ Kai.

Dandy has the same problem literally EVERYTHING aired at 2:30 AM has--NO benefit of delayed viewing in Live+SD. Also, these episodes have already been run quite a few times, even if 3 years and change ago. This is their 4th airing each (plus numerous online streams), as many as 5th each when we get to Episodes 12 and 13. However, beyond that it will only be their 2nd airing each so hopefully that gives the numbers a bit of a boost.

Yeah, but in that argument, he uses an anime phenomenon from 2018 (Devilman Crybaby) to describe why a show from 2014 wasn't more successful. IIRC, the 2014 anime streaming scene was dominated by Neon Alley around the time that Space Dandy came out, and then Hulu continued with that trend. Netflix wasn't the ubiquitous monster it is today, so Toonami was actually MORE relevant in 2014 than it is today. I daresay its relevance was GROWING at the time then peaked (on adult swim) in 2015 before beginning to ebb in 2016, a trend which continues today. Attack on Titan may have streamed on all major platforms with subtitles, but the fact that its long-awaited (like for a year) dub premiere was on Toonami was huge and cemented its relevance in that age. The thing that hurt the 2nd cour of Space Dandy the most was not Toonami's growing irrelevance, but the fact that AOT was king and Bleach directly followed it, that it was, after all, STILL a World Premiere and got stuck behind lame-duck Bleach's worst canon arc was a miscalculation!
