  4. It's Wolf Guy from Universe 9 vs. Buu!! Tomorrow (9/15/18) at 10:30 PM! ONLY TOONAMI!!
  5. Can Deku win the current great challenge of the festival?? Find out tomorrow (9/15/18) at 10 PM!! Only Toonami!!
  6. Just when I thought I might make it through a full week, Friday screws me up. Oh well--you can still benefit from these if you're on the West Coast, I guess... And after that... Screw you, Zamasu!!!
  7. Why in the hell should anyone expect THAT!? You DO know Old Sesshomaru works for him, right???
  8. Right now, exactly 4 years ago, Hellsing Ultimate's first episode aired on Toonami, and the block would never be the same. After it finished its run, more shows featuring copious amounts of blood would grace the better cartoon show, including KILL la KILL, Akame ga KILL!, Parasyte -the maxim-, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and Tokyo Ghoul. Sure, earlier shows like Deadman Wonderland and Attack on Titan Season 1 featured blood, but nothing opened the door quite like Hellsing. Also of note: in the days of the first 2 episodes of Hellsing, it was the 8th show on the lineup and a network premiere. Now, that's also true, as the 8th show is Black Clover!
  9. http://programminginsider.com/wednesday-final-ratings-american-horror-story-on-fx-dominates-cable-demos-despite-lowest-rated-season-premiere-to-date/ Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.505 million viewers (#71) • 0.31 HH (#75) • 0.22 A18-49 (#46) • 0.23 A18-34 (#19) • 0.19 A25-54 (#63) Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:30 PM, 30 min.) • 0.454 million viewers (#77) • 0.30 HH (#77) • 0.22 A18-49 (#46) • 0.23 A18-34 (#19) • 0.20 A25-54 (#58) Now THAT'S what I call a "WINSDAY!!!" Even Lord Beerus is stunned at these ratings!!! Week 11 now leads the whole run in Adults 18-49 and 25-54!! We'll see if that holds up through the next 2 days (one of which has technically already happened, except on the West Coast), but for now, the power hour is looking pretty good!
  10. Ahh, guess it's just me tonight. Well, at least I CAN watch live for once!
  11. The midnight hour (4) is DEFINITELY edgy and dark after this change, but the 1 AM hour (5) decidedly less so. Black Clover and Hunter x Hunter have their moments of edge though!
  12. http://programminginsider.com/tuesday-final-ratings-univisions-mi-marido-tiene-mas-familia-and-telemundos-falsa-identidad-both-premiere-well/ Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.382 million viewers (#84) • 0.24 HH (#85) • 0.14 A18-49 (#79) • 0.15 A18-34 (#39) • 0.14 A25-54 (#90) Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:30 PM, 30 min.) • 0.354 million viewers (#88) • 0.23 HH (#87) • 0.15 A18-49 (#73) • 0.15 A18-34 (#39) • 0.15 A25-54 (#87) The second episode gained on the first or tied in all the demos, and I guess that's really all that matters...
  13. Wow, no dual family guy on Saturday nights anymore!? That's hard for even ME to believe! Please post source?? Currently it's HM x2 at 5 replacing Cleveland beginning this week. https://www.adultswim.com/schedule/
  14. Well, be that as it may, tonight we've got Episode 57, which is just an awful lot of this: And that will be followed by Episode 58, which YAY, THE PROMOS ARE BACK!!! TONIGHT AT 8 PM!!!
  15. My thoughts on the latest lineup promo: at some point in the 2014 lineup, they actually did a 30-second abridged one that just glossed over all the reruns. We could expect them to do something similar, I think, actually naming off every show from 9 PM-2 AM, and then 2 AM-4 AM just gets "and two more hours of great classic shows closes out the night" while brief clips from One-Punch Man, Lupin the 3rd, Cowboy Bebop, and Samurai Jack flash on the screen. I think some of the reruns actually increase the variety of the night as a whole, as there's nothing else on the lineup like Lupin or Jack, but I still want Gundam to make its triumphant return. Either that, or they take a chance with something like Star Blazers 2199. While I realize FLCL Alternative is their biggest investment, once it's out of premieres, and simultaneously Bebop ends, would 2 AM, pushing what's left of OPM and Lupin at that point back to their old timeslots, really be all that DAMN BAD for a rerun? I mean, once it's over, you could just switch back to Progressive's 3rd run, while something FRESH and different gets 11:30, either the return of Gundam or SB2199. DeMarco has said in the past that he wanted to air the Star Blazers remake, so it's kind of an outlier that it hasn't happened yet. And for it to show up at 11:30 leading-in to AOT would be decent move, especially if replacing the other space opera on the schedule, Cowboy Bebop.
  16. Coming up in just a bit less than an hour, it's Episode 55... And then right after that, it's Episode 56, which oddly doesn't seem to have a promo on YouTube so I guess I'll post this...
  17. Don't get me wrong: I don't believe we'll get back to a million anytime soon, if ever. But I DO have high hopes that the Guy/Kai combo can at least get us back to 800K or 900K. It might take a little help from CN at this point though. If they can lead-in to Family Guy with blockbuster animated and CGI movies once again, then it might be feasible. Also, I wonder how long it will be until we see a Gundam back on Toonami? If ratings are just too low for Gundam right now, I guess the best bet for something new is the slot right after Dragon Ball Super once FLCL Alternative ends. Of course, if we're talking a rerun of Unicorn, that goes in the back, in either hour 6 (replacing OPM) or hour 7.
  18. I'll show ya what excites ME: Why post this here? Because I believe this move seems to be at least partially motivated by ratings. It's no question that DBZ Kai has been Toonami's highest rated show and the Frieza arc was its best arc, so kicking off the night with it just seems academic to me (no offense to the Academia show currently kicking off the block). Of course, at this point, its only lead-in will likely be an hour of Family Guy at 8 PM. Plus the Boruto/Super hour seems to be a potential windfall later in the night. http://programminginsider.com/monday-final-ratings-espn-dominates-prime-time-despite-third-consecutive-decline-for-opening-week-monday-night-football-doubleheader/ Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.432 million viewers (#79) • 0.28 HH (#80) • 0.17 A18-49 (#51) • 0.18 A18-34 (#33) • 0.16 A25-54 (#73) Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:30 PM, 30 min.) • 0.388 million viewers (#82) • 0.25 HH (#83) • 0.16 A18-49 (#58) • 0.18 A18-34 (#33) • 0.16 A25-54 (#73) Well, that didn't go as well as I had hoped, but this is just one day. At least the 18-49s only dropped slightly and the 18-34s and 25-54s kept pace.
  19. But not a 9 PM weeknight run!! Or maybe reconquering mid-network isn't off the table. AOT has been such a long-term investment that it needs a weeknight run somehow. As for how the 9 PM hour will affect marathons, I'd say the new frontrunner for the Saturday before Halloween has become Black Clover. It could get the last 14 episodes blown off without mixing up the night, but Pop Team Epic and FLCL Progressive/Alternative can't do that. As for Christmas holidays, the current seasons of MHA, AOT, and JoJo will all have enough episodes out by then. But not by Thanksgiving. The weirdest thing about this whole thing is that FLCL Progressive/Alternative night is actually at a disadvantage now. But maybe they'd even try something completely insane: ALL 3 SEASONS OF FLCL IN THE SAME NIGHT!!! Of course to do that, they would have to start at 8:45 and go all the way until 6 AM...
  20. I never thought I'd see the day where Dragon Ball Super is the 5th show on the lineup, and the 11:30 show, Toonami's earliest limit in its first heyday on Adult Swim, the 6th show deep, while it's showing a World Premiere. Also interesting, that for the first time since the last time Kai was the first show on the lineup, the first show won't be receiving Topical promos. MHA will likely continue to get those at 9:30, Boruto at 10:30, and then both shows of the 11 PM hour, plus AOT at midnight. I guess that means all that leads-in to Toonami now is Family Guy, and hopefully it plus the evergreen early Kai shores up the ratings enough to drive the rest of the block, with the Boruto/Super hour providing a likely mid-block windfall. There are even some weeks that the current arc of Naruto: Shippuden might beat MHA, though I believe its days are numbered before we go back into Filler Hell. At least this time the episodes appear to be a seafaring adventure that resembles--One Piece, of all things. On that note, only tangentially related to Toonami, the One Piece Sails On Twitter discussion will likely move to the earliest it's ever been--8 PM. I think now there's no question that we're in Toonami on [as]'s 2nd heyday, and what's even more insane is we will probably actually get an 8-hour block on November 3rd, transition from DST day. With the block now beginning at 9 PM, I'd say Miyazaki movies (supplied by gkids) are no longer off the table. What if, on that night only, Toonami kicked off with a Miyazaki movie from 9-11:30 or 12, then went into normal programming beginning either with Boruto at 11:30 ("10:30 PM") or Dragon Ball Super at midnight ("11 PM")??? Everything else would technically air an hour later until 2 AM, but there would be enough time since the 2 AM hour doubles.

  22. Now this lineup makes sense. Kai is the highest rated show in Toonami on [as] history. If it's starting over from the beginning, then we'll see if the Frieza Arc can capture the magic it did in 2015 once again in 2019! But this also does beg the question as to why Kai hasn't been tried on weeknights...

  24. JoJo would be an interesting one, as it hasn't gotten any on-air marathon love in quite a while, but I'm not sure it CAN get a marathon all night starting at 10 PM. The earliest it's ever aired is midnight. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for destroyed turtles and bulldogs losing their heads in the 10 PM hour, but S&P might be a little wary of it. AOT is bloody but stylized enough and popular enough to get away with it. And I can't see DBS ever getting a marathon again since it's running on weeknights, but you never know.
