  1. Episode #72 (Season 4, Episode 9): "Red Riot" 11 PM Tomorrow night (1/18) ONLY TOONAMI!!!
  2. Well, you beat me to the punch. Ironically, my DVR says Season 3, Episode 25!
  3. That makes sense. One other rule that they broke during the Sand Whale & Me is that they had really wonky start and stop times for shows, which wreaked havoc on DVR recordings. This also happened during The Forge, but somehow it was to a much lesser extent. I think they actually cut a minute off of the commercials during the break which also contained The Forge, but they didn't do that for Sand Whale & Me. They obviously made up that time later in the night.

  5. Nah, probably more like 1/10. That's the problem with airing on Saturday nights instead of weekdays like it did in its heyday. Then again, at one point in 2015, 2 million people all over the nation were watching DBZ Kai, so I dunno. But all the major companies except Viz push their streaming services instead of Toonami and that's a problem. I have noticed FUNimation NOW commercials on AXS of all places. I wonder if that means that someday in the near future AXS will try a FUNimation block? Probably not... BTW, I just realized something: Toonami's current look is actually its SEVENTH graphic set on Adult Swim!
  6. This is gonna be an absolutely glorious shitshow! I predict Roar will replace Bakugan: Battle Planet on Sunday mornings at 7 AM...
  7. That's probably about right. It will be interesting to see if MHA gets a later timeslot in favor of something hot and new (no pun intended) once Fire Force ends, but I haven't a clue what is out right now that could possibly do better.
  8. Ok, so let's see how Prime Time did before Toonami...HUH?!? Dragon Ball Z Kai (repeat) (ADSM, 8:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.591 million viewers (#90) • 0.17 HH (#94) • 0.10 A18-49 (#60) • 0.10 A18-34 (#35) • 0.10 A25-54 (#89) Dragon Ball Super (repeat) (ADSM, 8:30 PM, 30 min.) • 0.577 million viewers (#93) • 0.18 HH (#91) • 0.09 A18-49 (#73) • 0.08 A18-34 (#51) • 0.09 A25-54 (#96) Bob’s Burgers (repeat) (ADSM, 9:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.823 million viewers (#58) • 0.25 HH (#58) • 0.19 A18-49 (#22) • 0.15 A18-34 (#14) • 0.21 A25-54 (#29) Bob’s Burgers (repeat) (ADSM, 9:30 PM, 30 min.) • 1.067 million viewers (#46) • 0.31 HH (#47) • 0.23 A18-49 (#11) • 0.22 A18-34 (#4) • 0.26 A25-54 (#17) Family Guy (repeat) (ADSM, 10:00 PM, 30 min.) • 1.194 million viewers (#39) • 0.34 HH (#46) • 0.28 A18-49 (#4) • 0.25 A18-34 (#2) • 0.29 A25-54 (#11) Family Guy (repeat) (ADSM, 10:30 PM, 30 min.) • 1.364 million viewers (#28) • 0.42 HH (#36) • 0.32 A18-49 (#3) • 0.27 A18-34 (#1) • 0.32 A25-54 (#10) Read more: https://programminginsider.com/saturday-final-ratings-nfl-divisional-round-games-rise-to-multi-year-highs-for-nbc-and-cbs/ Yeah, I'm not buying these monster total viewer numbers for a second. (The demographics appear to be correct.) As much as I'd love to see the Dragon Ball Power Hour over 500K, we already know from ShowBuzzDaily that the Dragon Ball Super power hour got 295K/289K, which happens to be approximately half of what was reported by ProgrammingInsider above, so I think it's obvious somehow their formula for calculating the number of total viewers has an error that makes it off by a factor of 2, and the ACTUAL numbers for Bob's Burgers and Family Guy were half of what's above, in other words, or should I say "numbers": Bob’s Burgers (repeat) (ADSM, 9:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.411 million viewers (#58) Bob’s Burgers (repeat) (ADSM, 9:30 PM, 30 min.) • 0.533 million viewers (#46) Family Guy (repeat) (ADSM, 10:00 PM, 30 min.) • 0.597 million viewers (#39) Family Guy (repeat) (ADSM, 10:30 PM, 30 min.) • 0.682 million viewers (#28) So that FG total is be the number I used when calculating the % retention for MHA, which is 70%, and is consistent with what we've seen lately. However, some of the demographics only retained 65-69%. Not a good look, MHA! Hopefully it does better next week!
  9. Some of y'all might have noticed during Toonami this week that shows appeared to do better in trending than last week. And perhaps you were also wondering if that trend carried over to the Nielsen ratings. Well, the answer is sadly "not quite", but there IS an interesting phenomenon to note: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-1-11-2020.html "Adult Swim’s line-up performed as follows: DRAGON BALL at 0.10/295K & 0.09/289K compared to last week’s 0.11/0.12, MY HERO ACADEMIA down 0.01 to 0.21, DR STONE down 0.01 to 0.18, ONE-PUNCH MAN up 0.03 to 0.21, FIRE FORCE steady at 0.17, FOOD WARS down 0.01 to 0.15, DEMON SLAYER down 0.01 to 0.15/283K, BLACK CLOVER up 0.02 to 0.14/257K, JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE up 0.01 to 0.12/222K, NARUTO up 0.02 to 0.13/256K, PROMISED NEVERLAND up 0.02 to 0.11/198K, and ATTACK ON TITAN up 0.01 to 0.11/200K." That's right folks: Punchy beat MHA in 18-49 to go out for Season 2 in a blaze of glory, just like Genos almost did!! And it looks like while this week faltered over last in terms of total viewers and 18-34, it bested last week in Adults 18-49! Baseline established, now let's see what the return of SAO can do!
  10. There is an interesting point in this article: this movie is a "final battle" of sorts. If that's the case, why is it screening before Season 4 even ends!? Then again, I guess that's how it went down in Japan, since it opened in Japan on December 20th, about the time that the 11th episode of Season 4 came out. In other words, the run on Toonami will have reached the same point or slightly after that when the movie comes out over here. But then again, this movie appears to capture a concept that was an original alternate ending for the manga, so perhaps it doesn't spoil anything from Season 4.
  11. Episode 24!? Shouldn't that be spoiler-tagged!? What the hell, man!?!
  12. Karma Chameleon!?! Good grief, this thread went straight to hell, didn't it? Guess I'll post the cool promo... Also, y'all done misspelled "Alicization" in the OP. Not that it matters, because it's kind of a made-up word anyway... [whatever]
  13. The key... And Grisha's speech to him! And we FINALLY found out what was in that damn basement in the most recent season!!! The bite, and a partial transformation to protect Mikasa and Armin! And that's all for tonight! 5.5-hour challenge complete! LATER!!
  14. It's not exactly clear, but my theory is that Eren was able to bite his lip or something to transform, but then again it could just be because he lost his arm? I'm really not sure. But if he HADN'T transformed, Santa Titan would be the Attack Titan right now!
  15. Episode #09: "The Whereabouts Of His Left Arm" - The Struggle For Trost, Part 5 - HELL YEAH, LEVI KICKING ASS!!!
  16. Knowing who Ray is from the beginning, watching this show makes for a very different show!
  17. You know, I just noticed something: next week will be the first time we've had THREE Aniplex shows on the regular block at the same time! I guess that depends if you count FMA:B though. It was both FUNimation and Aniplex. But even it was only on at either the same time as SAO, Blue Exorcist, or Gurren Lagann. It was gone by the time Kill La Kill and Sword Art Online II did double duty on the block.
