I really hope so. I would really hate for these 3 new series to be announced with such fanfare only for it to turn out to be vaporware! As for AEW, it's already getting screwed by TNT. Next week's episode is pre-empted to 6 PM Saturday evening. Come on guys, why not just put it on [as] or TBS?

Hey, you're right! In fact, I'd say it's a bit more likely that they'll do a Paranoia Agent Halloween marathon. The fact that it's also the end of DST means they have the unique opportunity to run all 13 episodes if they expand to 5:30 for one night only, and that still offers room for a 30-minute buffer before CN takes over.

I sincerely doubt TBS, TNT, CNN or CN/AS will be affected by this. (Well, maybe in terms of programming, but not loss of channel.) If any Turner channels are in trouble they're truTV and Boomerang.

I never thought I'd say this, but it looks like we need SAO to save us beyond Batman. I think it would do pretty well as a midnight lead-in and at least give us a solid hour of dub premieres for the next 9 weeks. Even Fire Force Season 2 will never be one of those! With no break on Labor Day weekend, JoJo would end right before Halloween. I think it would be pretty cool if it were also the Halloween marathon, and it could also feature a video of that JoJo rap song, perhaps with clips from all 5 parts for its final sendoff on the network (well, until Part 6: Stone Ocean is produced and arrives anyway. Maybe beyond the pandemic?) SAO of course would be another option for the Halloween marathon, and both COULD feature an extended Toonami for DST. (4.5 hours instead of 3.5). For SAO that would be Episodes 13-21 of WOU (1-9 of the new cour)--but I believe I'm getting ahead of myself here. We don't even know for sure SAO is coming at the end of the month, after all! But that Halloween JoJo sendoff (of GW episodes 31-39 or 32-39) sounds like a cool idea to me.

Same time slot, same night of the week, exactly 5 years later, the occupying show could only muster less than a 5th of the viewership (or not even an 8TH the 18-34 number!) Of course back then it didn't have the NBA to compete with! We don't yet have the numbers from this week to verify this, but I think it's clear that Dragon Ball Super reruns aren't cutting it at midnight. Hopefully the Batman movies do better this week and next. But the NBA is a formidable force. Perhaps TNT's games will contain ads for Batman this week?

I have this crazy idea that Toonami is somehow going to use the Bat-break to acquire a new show for Midnight. Pretty much the only way it could be a dub premiere is if it were SAO:A-WOU2, but leading the block with that doesn't sound like a great idea to me. Probably better than reruns of Dragon Ball Super though!

Believe it or not, THIS happened 5 years ago tonight! How amazing! And even more stunning was the fact that DBZ Kai cracked 2 million, for 2,015,000, probably the highest rating Toonami on Adult Swim will ever receive!
