SSSS Gridman joins toonami in january
OwlChemist81 replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Well, looks like 2020 will effectively be a year without mechas, I guess unless you count BallMastrz... ...but they're BACK in 2021! And so are Kaiju!! Still waiting on you to pick up Gundam Thunderbolt in December one year in some form, DeMarco; its movie form would be great for a takeover night like we had back in August with the Batman nights! -

I wouldn't be surprised if they still livestream con panels. That might be all we get from now on. I wonder if it would be possible to re-invent Pre-Flight as a short TV show? -
https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/fire-force/episodes-25-26/.161712 4 stars--a very positive review! This was truly Fire Force at its finest, even if the only battle was the one within! Next week we finally get to episodes I haven't seen, and they're wearing masks, so oh hell yeah for that! Very on-message for 2020!

You know, this actually kinda makes sense in a bizarre sci-fi way! Higa's gotta nut up and go down that chute!! https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/sword-art-online-alicization-war-of-underworld-part-2/episodes-1-2/.161995 I saw most of this episode since it aired live during a set break from a band I was seeing, but I was also a bit distracted by the fact that the bar I was in was playing one of my favorite songs of all time: Seal's "Kiss From A Rose", which I sang loudly while masked while also trying to watch this episode. But, I digress--4 stars! Yes, I agree! For a lot of reasons, this episode was much better than the previous one, even though this was totally Bercouli's Kamina moment! It was thankfully devoid of the "rapey" content which probably knocked it down a notch. An epic sacrifice, and though it was one that only drove back the enemy, it was not completely in vain! And that revelation about Fanatio at the end was also quite precious! At least Kamina never got to do that to Yoko!

It would seem it may have done a little better, since it got a better lead-in than on Toonami. "Adult Swim’s late-night line-up performed as follows: DRAGON BALL at 0.21/393K, SWORD ART UNDERWORLD at 0.17, FIRE FORCE at 0.17, ASSASSINATION CLASSROOM at 0.16, GEMUSETTO at 0.12/0.11, NARUTO at 0.11/207K, and DEMON SLAYER at 0.09/201K." Well, unfortunately no rebound for the late night part of the block. And DBS at Midnight clearly ain't working!

Well, predictably enough after the presumed Biden victory, news and sports dominated the Top 50 to the point that the 2 hours of Toonami that were eligible to make it missed it. That said, the anime premieres did OK, but then Gemusetto was down considerably: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-11-7-2020.html It remains to be seen if Shippuden and Demon Slayer could escape from the abyss and manage to do alright, but we will most likely know later today, along with the Primal duo.

gemusetto Gemusetto Death Beat(s) Discussion

The first episode, Asus4, was actually kinda intriguing. The robot frog Keith's tongue blocking Makasu's urethra was just stupid though. The second episode, not as much.- 94 replies

In 2 years they'll be perfectly normal, 18 and 22. I do think it's funny that the main character isn't attracted to one of the others in his squad, but instead one random other squad who has kind of an antagonistic relationship with his squad!

October 31, 2020 The Promised Neverland Season 1 Ratings: https://programminginsider.com/saturday-final-ratings-ohio-state-once-again-proves-its-ratings-prowess-on-abc-saturday-night-football/ Average of 181.7K total viewers and 120.8K adults 18-49. Not bad for a Halloween marathon. Nothing under 150K total viewers or 100K adults 18-49. Dead last for the year, but I don't care; it was nice just having the first season back on the air!

Gemusetto Death Beats Initial Thoughts?
OwlChemist81 replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Ironically, the 2nd episode of this and maybe the first half of Ass Class is really about all I saw live on Toonami last night. As someone with a robust social life, I rely heavily on my DVR to watch Toonami, especially during football season. However, I did not bother to DVR this because I knew it's getting an encore tonight at 1:15 AM ET (12:15 my time). Need to catch up on the first half, too! -

Funny, that show actually did fairly well on Syfy opposite the first half of Dragon Ball Super reruns on Toonami. Its season finale, which aired on October 24th at Midnight, actually got 344K total viewers, and a 0.12 in Adults 18-49, checking in at #61. Not bad! http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-10-24-2020.html- 94 replies

Yeah, when she takes off her clothes, she takes them off deliberately, unlike Tamaki, who gets them knocked off randomly in awkward clumsiness!
