  1. Get Ready for Ass Class and a Blast from the Past!! See the next chapter in the story of how Koro-Sensei came to be! 1 AM tonight--ONLY TOONAMI!!
  2. This saga started in 2013. Only makes sense that it ends in 2023.
  3. I thought the dub was already on HiDIVE--I am happy to stand corrected! Thanks, SENTAI! Now the next mystery is: "What do we get in the Midnight Hour on May 7th?" BOTH Shenmue and AOT end April 30th... But I'm willing to bet the 1 AM hour becomes the Sentai hour after Ass Class ends. After all, its Season 1 was essentially replaced by Food Wars! Third Plate, so Season 2 could have a similar fate.
  4. This may come as a bit of a surprise, but I have absolutely no qualms with American Dad being a direct lead-in to Toonami with 90 minutes or even 2 hours. Next best thing to Family Guy, and first proved itself as a competent lead-in to [as] ACTN in 2010 when the Bleach Amagai arc got huge ratings at Midnight. That said, Rick & Morty is a lot weaker lead-in than American Dad, but if they HAVE to air it right before Toonami, AT LEAST it's only half an hour this way. I would rather it air after Futurama and lead-in to AD, but whatever.
  5. If we can't get Gundam or SSSS back, I'll take a little Break Blade! Of course, that's probably unlikely since the episodes are an hour long...
  6. Well lookie there! Kinda called it! I mean, we're not getting that new dub of Part 1 (at least, not yet), but at least after this week, Lupin is back on the block! And granted, unlike the last 2 Parts of Lupin to grace the Better Cartoon Show, it isn't a dub premiere, but who really cares? LUPIN IS BACK, BABY!!!
  7. No, not ON Toonami. But LEADING IN to Toonami would be IDEAL. BUT maybe think outside the box a little? Have T.O.M. and S.A.R.A. appear on screen and comment briefly on the in-ring action we just watched at like 11:30 PM before a rundown of Toonami's topicals and other promos for the week, or maybe a lineup promo? If [as] were to actually air an AEW/ROH live or clip show, it could easily be [as]'s biggest ratings driver for the week. It should also be filled with references to other [as] shows, including Toonami. For example, imagine Luchasaurus wearing a PRIMAL shirt to the ring! Or "alien" Kris Statlander and Rick & Morty? The possibilities are endless...
  8. Shenmue did pretty well last week, but then the rest of the block dropped the ball pretty bigly as people who were intrigued by Shenmue's fetch quest mysteries didn't want to stick around for Conny's cringeworthy plot to save his mom by sacrificing Falco: https://showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-saturday-4-2-2022-top-150-cable-originals-network-finals.html Oh well. At least the meat of the block stayed over 100K and 0.05 18-49, and since Shippuden actually rebounded nicely from the post-Abyss abyss of One Piece, Cowboy Bebop probably followed suit...
  9. I didn't watch the whole game, but I didn't see it. That WOULD have been cool though!
  10. Blatch, you have a point. If they only have the home video rights, it may take going back to the Japanese distributor to get the TV rights to get stuff like Black Rock Shooter on Toonami. Hopefully Sentai will be willing to play ball with the new season of Lupin. If they're willing to drop a One Piece temporarily, a Lupin hour leading into that would be interesting. Part 6 at 1:30 moving up to 1 when Ass Class ends, and Part 1 at 2 AM moving up to 1:30 then.
  11. Didn't Sir Mix-A-Lot say it was his favorite anime series? 😉🤣
  12. They could air the first season of Fate/Stay night from like 2002, but the new stuff? Aniplexunchyrollimation. Not happening.
  13. Made In Abyss seems to prove that despite being a cable competitor they're still willing to work with Toonami. I guess we'll know for sure if Food Wars Season 5 or something else from Sentai pops up. Now might be Break Blade's big chance!
  14. Well darn. That said, AOT and One Piece are probably "grandfathered in". As would be new seasons of shows like Fire Force. I imagine Yashahime falls in there too. But what's clear from this news is they're gonna have to work directly with the Japanese distributors for stuff like Gundam from Sunrise/Bandai. And of course air more Sentai stuff. Probably also Discotek would be a decent ally for stuff like Black Rock Shooter.
  15. I concur. Hey, The Walking Dead is getting a 3-part conclusion, so I have no problem with this! In fact I welcome this news! Come on, [as], let this series have a weeknight slot from the beginning this fall!
  16. THIS JUST IN: NEWS: Following the airing of the Part 2 finale of #AttackOnTitan: The Final Season in Japan, Studio Mappa has announced that there will be a Part 3 of #AttackOnTitanFinalSeason, scheduled to premiere in 2023. https://t.co/zlY44jnlX6 https://t.co/ITAggFVTYL
  17. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/assassination-classroom-season-2/episode-15/.101370 Grade: B+. Good episode! We're clearly in the home stretch, now that we know who Koro-Sensei really is!
  18. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/attack-on-titan-the-final-season-part-2/episode-83/.183099 3 stars. A low for Attack on Titan, to be sure, but it did indeed kinda feel goofy, and thankfully the Conny subplot ended, though with the super-serious near-sacrifice of Armin, as he apparently no longer felt he had a role to play. Of course, we knew Conny would save him, since he has been narrating this whole time! On to Episode 84 next week!
  19. Dammit, I hate that I slept through this one; it really was a good one! Should have eaten a few Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies when I got home and that might have given me the caffeine to go the distance!
  20. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/made-in-abyss/episode-12/.121758 It's hard to read these reviews during other Toonami shows or even the commercial breaks, so I'm posting it now. Rating: A-. Damn good episode. Damn good show. Pumped for the 1-hour season finale next week!
