    So one thing that's often said about Alternative is it's more slice-of-life. But that was a pretty stellar action sequence!

    I think we haven't lost our shot at Fire Force Season 3 on a similar schedule to Season 2 in 2020-21, but it may be out for a while on Crunchyroll before Toonami can air it.

    True, but it got most of its block length Mojo back in July 2020 and later so for most of 2021 it had a 4-hour runtime. In fact it wasn't until November of 2022 that got culled back to a 3-hour runtime, which despite occasional disruptions in the post-Toonami schedule (such as last weekend and this weekend's 2018 FLCL marathons), it has scarcely stirred from in 2023.

    Your logic sucks. We HAVE Unicorn Warriors Eternal that can sub in. Or hell, maybe a new FLCL. No reason Toonami can't be 3.5 hours.

Two of the Smalls specials made the cutoff but curiously enough, not the 3rd, sandwiched between them.

    When I think about which years 2023 most resembles, my thoughts turn to 2015 and 2016, but in those years, it was more like the lack of block length driving lack of acquisitions, and not lack of acquisitions driving block length like 2023. These days Toonami struggles to fill 3 hours weekly unless it airs a marathon, although my mind boggles as to why they can't just air My Adventures With Superman after MHA at 3 AM and call that part of Toonami beginning on 9/9.

    I think despite it's weird Windwaker-esque cel shading design, Grunge is gonna be pretty damn good, especially with the Miami Vice feel of the promo!
