I think we'll be getting rid of ads soon. They don't really provide any useful income for the amount of annoyance they generate. They only made us $33 this month and that's not even half of the server cost.

Adsense seems to be having some issues.

I could also set up a thing where people who have donated don't see ads but that seems kinda extort-y so I'm leaning against it.

I've also changed the ad settings so it should be showing about half as many ads soon. Apparently google can target the ones that perform the best and only show those.

I'm currently trying to find a way to make the ads smaller or in a different place on the page on mobile.

It averages less than a dollar a day. I'm going to give it until the 1st, but if it stays that low it's not worth the annoyance.

I'm not sure about this. Google gives me too little control. Might try another service if I don't just stop alltogether.

It does take like 6 hours for any changes I make to ads to get reflected. Concerned that I'm seeing ads here that I don't see in the ad dashboard though. It's supposed to let me approve/deny all of them.

I've disabled the ones that go inbetween shit, hopefully. It's really annoying how little control google gives you.

Unfortunately I can't turn off those big square ones on mobile, because they're part of the most basic ad set google offers. That being said, I think if you X them out google will show them less.

I went through about 500 ads and blocked out all the sketchy shit and dating sites I could find from appearing here.

Okay, so there are some ads I'm definitely going to block from appearing. And don't feel bad about adblocking here. I don't care.
