Top Gun Posted Sunday at 09:50 PM Posted Sunday at 09:50 PM It's funny, I read about this in an episode review later but I didn't even notice while watching it. Quote
PokeNirvash Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago (edited) Honest talk, it'd have been way better, if considerably more time-consuming, to just digi-paint all the manji out. I'd like to say at least that explains some of the weirder direction choices during the Toman meetup scene, like that one shot of Draken lingering a little too long or the fade to black followed by a fade in from black they used to demonstrate Mikey putting his jacket on, but yeah... I wish Demarco still had a social media presence, because if there was ever a time to complain at him about something that isn't the quality of Toonami's original co-productions, this would be it. Strangely, one scene in this episode actually did this. When the dude with the white hair is explaining the situation to Takemichi, it’s cleanly painted out of his jacket. I’m not sure why they decided to put forward the effort there, but lens flare and hold scenes everywhere else. It’s still dumb censorship, but it also doesn’t pop off the screen and scream it’s an edit either. Quote
