Amazon announces plans to ramp up anime production while claiming Prime Video currently makes more money off anime than Max

Well, Max doesn't really have that much anime beyond [as]'s offerings, while Amazon's been licensing and streaming some shows since the days of Anime Strike. (Remember that?) No big surprise, honestly.

True, but IIRC we DID actually get an Anime Strike show on Toonami at some point. Was it Lycoris Recoil?

Not Lycoris Recoil. Made in Abyss season 1 was originally exclusive to Anime Strike in the US despite being licensed by Sentai and available on HiDive in other regions at the same time.

It’s arguably the success of Invincible that has Amazon wanting to invest again.
