On the other hand, I don't know who's in charge of Toonami's acquisitions unit.

Comment sections are pissed that it looks like a girl boss movie about Helm’s daughter. This will be the first WBA film I will support in theaters since Wonka but I fully expect it to bomb.

They hate it because it’s a Girlboss story like Rings of Power.

I hate it because it ignores Tolkien’s mountain of lore to tell fanfic and retain film rights…like how Rings of Power uses appendixes to tell a fanfic story that ignores Tolkien.

There’s no good reason to side step the rich lore to do a glorified fanfic. Who made this decision to focus on a character that wasn’t even named in the text rather than the legendary king? If it was DeMarco then he truly doesn’t understand what people want from animated films and shows based on existing IP (As if FLCL wasn’t already enough evidence). If it was Kamiyama then his track record is only getting worse with each new project.
