That's not what I got from the article.

Prior to becoming governor, it came out that he'd had all the toilets pulled out of one of his mansions (during a rehab) before having the tax assessment done.  The house was deemed "uninhabitable" and the taxes were lowered around $350K (paid after it was caught).  After the assessment, at least one of the toilets were replaced so they could live there.  It's being re-investigated now, due to things going on with Speaker of the Illinois House Mike Madigan.

And there's more stuff like this coming out of the woodwork - https://www.wbez.org/stories/gov-pritzker-defends-appointee-with-family-ties-to-key-figure-in-comed-scandal/e951611f-dce9-4d1a-975c-f6d477a21221

That has nothing to do with a hillbilly judge trying to interfere with the core function of state government.

Gov. was told he could only have a 30 day extension, then he'd have to get the Legislature involved.  He has since extended it beyond the 30 days without involving the Legislature.

By a hillbilly judge who, in reality, doesn't have the authority to make the final determination of that.  The fact he needs to stoop to issuing a contempt summons is proof his order has little actual force.

Has to start in a lower court somewhere.  You're one of those, aren't you?  "We don't like bullying and name calling, you damn hillbilly!"

Not off to a very convincing start.  I wonder why the local state representative had to go to the county courthouse to get something done instead of getting his buddies in the statehouse to join him?

The majority are beholden to Speaker Madigan, who really calls (called?) the shots.  You crossed Madigan, even if you were a Dem., you'd find yourself gerrymandered out of your district.

He's currently suspected of being "Public Official A" in a Fed Investigation.

And when (if) madigan goes to prison, he'll just be the next in a long line of IL heads to roll directly from their executive office into an 8x8. And someone else will pick up the torch. Rinse. Repeat.

This is true of everything south of I-80 really.  Kentucky is perfectly welcome to it, too.

Actually, the real morons are in Crook County.  At one time, they hit upon the brilliant idea of selling all the fecal material from the Chicago waste processing facilities to the farmers downstate (C-SELM).  They figured the farmers would be all to happy to buy it too.  The people downstate told them what they could do with it.

Uh huh.  That was a rhetorical question.  At any rate, it was a GOP publicity stunt at a time when the governor is using his powers to actually help individuals.

The last "GOP" Governor here was George "Lyin'" Ryan.  A name his constituents in Kankakee gave him.  The last real GOP Governor was Jim Edgar.

I don't consider Blago a Dem or GOP, he was all about "what's in it for me?".

As I was making that comment I knew I was inviting every lard-ass downstate gomer into my replies and yet, and yet, it still manages to annoy.

You referring to this NW Suburban kid who lived north of I-80 all but 10 years of his life?  Don't think so.
