I knew the people didn't want us there- this was their parade, their candy. 

I was an interloper, a theif stealing from their community. I could see the anger in the people's faces as they marched past. 

Somebody came by handing out stickers to the children- they gave me one that said "this is our earth."

I knew it was a threat.
